Wow. Anyways... To answer your question; No, you don't have to buy a Tesla. Keep your eye on Lucid Motors.

Good luck on that, nobody makes a level 5 autonomous vehicle.

EV's have no soul, no connection to the driver. How do you know they last 2x to 10x longer than an ICE car? You make up data better than Elizabeth Holmes. Personally, I have always been a bit of a rebel. I got a Prius back in the 2000s when everybody was crapping on them for looking like tampons, and so naturally now I want a V8 when everybody wants electric. You sound like a conformist.
"How do you know they last 2x to 10x longer than an ICE car? You make up data better than Elizabeth Holmes" - I did overstate longevity, they last 2.5x, they are however 10x cheaper to maintain.
"Personally, I have always been a bit of a rebel. I got a Prius..."

I completely understand the primal desire for V8. I believe the designer of the original Murcielago V12 engine should be sainted. However, I have grown to truly appreciate the advances in technology that at first elevated the performance of smaller displacement IC engines / drivetrains and now in EVs (not just cars). At 59 y.o., this morning I rode my e-skateboard to the dentist for a 7:30 appt. (more of that conformist in me I suppose...)
If a Full Self Driving EV were available today and I could afford it, I'm all in for my daily driver. That would free me up to get a fun toy like the IS500 used in a few years. To each their own. Toyota makes great product and Lexus will always get a look from me. Peace.

Since it’s blatantly obvious that you’re referring to Tesla, please remember that level 5 does not require the operator to pay attention at all. As much as Tesla likes to tout that they have self driving capabilities, they still require the driver to pay the same amount of attention as if they were operating the vehicle without any driver aids.

Here4beer is obviously here2troll. No way in hell he was interested in a V8 sports car with all that EV talk ready to go in these posts.

I also wished people would learn how to do multiple quotes (lol)
I had asked my dealer when info about the 2022 models would be posted on the Lexus website, you know, the ability to configure the 2022...It seems a bit late for the new MY to not be on there. I can't wait for the ability to build an IS500 is added and such, it will give us a sign that it's truly here and happening (lol)

As much as I love the hype and a new video for the IS500, this video is pretty superficial.. haha. Lexus paid some big names to talk about how the V8 (2UR-GSE) is a big deal and that's about it. Thanks for sharing the video though!
