Fair enough. Can't comment on the review so I landed here. Carry on...

Thanks for the Lucid link. Was not aware of that group. - H4B

I think they took the silver one off the shelf, which was silver because it was hidden, and are now using the off-the-shelf part in a visible location and it probably wasn't worth it for them to paint the thing black.

Good luck on that, nobody makes a level 5 autonomous vehicle.

"You sound like a conformist" - Really? My daily driver is an '07 car. Except for my first car out of college, all my cars were bought used. The GS is my first two pedal car, ever.

"How do you know they last 2x to 10x longer than an ICE car? You make up data better than Elizabeth Holmes" - I did overstate longevity, they last 2.5x, they are however 10x cheaper to maintain.

"Personally, I have always been a bit of a rebel. I got a Prius..." your words not mine...

I completely understand the primal desire for V8. I believe the designer of the original Murcielago V12 engine should be sainted. However, I have grown to truly appreciate the advances in technology that at first elevated the performance of smaller displacement IC engines / drivetrains and now in EVs (not just cars). At 59 y.o., this morning I rode my e-skateboard to the dentist for a 7:30 appt. (more of that conformist in me I suppose...)

If a Full Self Driving EV were available today and I could afford it, I'm all in for my daily driver. That would free me up to get a fun toy like the IS500 used in a few years. To each their own. Toyota makes great product and Lexus will always get a look from me. Peace.

True, but Full Self Driving capability does not have to be Level 5. Level 5 = no steering wheel, no pedals.

Since it’s blatantly obvious that you’re referring to Tesla, please remember that level 5 does not require the operator to pay attention at all. As much as Tesla likes to tout that they have self driving capabilities, they still require the driver to pay the same amount of attention as if they were operating the vehicle without any driver aids.

I also wished people would learn how to do multiple quotes (lol)

I had asked my dealer when info about the 2022 models would be posted on the Lexus website, you know, the ability to configure the 2022...It seems a bit late for the new MY to not be on there. I can't wait for the ability to build an IS500 is added and such, it will give us a sign that it's truly here and happening (lol)

I took it one step further than you. I called Lexus corporate to ask the same question. They couldn’t give me a date. The 2021MY build configurator went up in October. The training material is out already though, so I would imagine the consumer information will most likely launch in the first week of October along with updated lease and financing offers. Having seen the training material for the IS350 and IS500, I will say that it’s riddled with typo’s and I don’t blame sales people for being confused about what a car does or doesn’t have.

As much as I love the hype and a new video for the IS500, this video is pretty superficial.. haha. Lexus paid some big names to talk about how the V8 (2UR-GSE) is a big deal and that's about it. Thanks for sharing the video though!
