Put a deposit down at 2 dealerships near me for the LE where I'm #1 in line for both. The first one wanted $1000 and the 2nd one $5000. I don't mind either and will go with whichever one comes in first. Hopefully it's a good number. Also, the first one doesn't have a clue when they will see the LE in and the 2nd one thought it wouldn't be until January. All so frustrating as Lexus should know their own build schedule. Bought a Camry Hybrid for my wife and they were able to tell me the exact date it was being built.

Damn I didn't even put a $5000 deposit down on my C7 which I ordered with my specific options.

Same!

I bought the Camry hybrid during this is500 wait and my dealer identified the build date and transit ETA from Georgetown Kentucky to CA. All in all, they were off by (1) day. Not bad at all. Apparently the Toyota Japan crystal ball isn't as clear. I just didn't want to think about 5 liter V8s and fuel economy haha. Also worth mentioning: of the 20+ bay area Toyota dealers only 4 were selling at MSRP. By the time I picked up the camry, even my dealer started adding markup. They honored my deal at MSRP though.

My Bay Area Lexus dealer is still empty handed on information.

Guys I didn't bother to re quote all... But just a reminder the silver thing is an additional external lined Trans Cooler.. Which is found in black and same location on all 2008-2014 IS F's

None of these are on the RC F

WTF - you can't make this stuff up.. Oh wait you can..

It is indeed an external Trans Cooler and mounted exactly where it is on the IS F..

For the sake of production I sure hope they come finished correctly in Black..
@lobuxracer

Otherwise someone F'd up ... Again!!

Having seen the training material for the IS350 and IS500, I will say that it’s riddled with typo’s and I don’t blame sales people for being confused about what a car does or doesn’t have.
I heard back today and its likely going to happen October 1st...

Oh buddy I’m excited. I placed my order for a 2022 IS350 on 9/17 and every day since I do a full routine every hour at work where I check to see if the 2022MY is up. Then I check if the 2022 Owners Manual is up. Then I check if anybody has updates on the forums. Then I check all of my local dealers to see how their inventory is changing (a bunch of dealers in my area added 2022 ES’s today). I’m just dying to get more info. And I’m eager to read all 700 pages of the owners manual.

I am not 100 percent sure but he told me there was a good chance that it would happen on that date. Congrats on your upcoming 2022 IS, it is great car. I suspect the changes are minimal so you read the manual from the 2021 and would be 99.9 the same minus maybe for the few additional features.

Joe Z...I hope you are right about the black cooler. Sadly we won't know until the 1st production units arrive

Thank you! Well, unfortunately I’ve already read the 2021 owners manual…. Talk about obsessed

So I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But I’ve been checking on the Lexus Japanese website for updates and today I noticed that there was a document showing the estimated time for the factory to ship a car after the order has been placed. Mind you, this is for the Japanese market so it may not apply to us. But this documents shows that there is currently a 5-6 month lead time on the IS. I recommend using DeepL to translate the file as the google translation was terrible.
