The commercial was awesome, thanks for the post! The birds and runaway cart got a “Right on brother!” from me.

It’s interesting to see the transmission cooler prominently in some vids and not others. So who knows how the final production will look. Thanks for posting the vids, they were nice to watch!

^^ I was gonna say the exact same thing - Why do some have the cooler so "in your face" and others you can't see it!! If the production car has it, I will have mine painted! No way I'll be driving around with that silver thing sticking out like a soar thumb! Come on Lexus....enough with these nonsense and requiring owners to fix your inabilities to spot the obvious

Could have missed, but the interior didn't look Ultrasuede either.

^^ LMAO - They got it a$$ backward - they should camouflage the radiator, not the car!

at least that one is because of a turbo!

I'd take a huge silver intercooler for a turbo V8 any day lol

Folks, a moderator has cleaned up some rude personal commentary and politics discussion (not allowed on our community).

Keep this on the IS500 please or don't post.

Interesting to see that the BBS wheels on what appears to not be a Launch Edition, so hopefully they'll be available as a dealer-installed option.

So Lexus is either doing fake product marketing or we will have black BBS wheels as an option on non LE.
If the latter is true, that changes my exterior color preferences for me because just as @wthrman2 is particular about his radiator color , I am particular about the number of colors/shades on the exterior. I am currently shying away from the red or any of the blue body colors because you end up with 3 colors - the body color, the black radiator, diffusers, tires, then the silver Enkei wheels. With black rather than silver wheels, you'll be down to just two colors, which IMO is more cohesive than 3. For now, I am instead leaning towards one of the grey body colors which somewhat match the Enkei wheels, to keep the number of exterior colors at 2

I would hope for the black wheels as well. The brochure from Lexus doesn't specifically call them out as "Exclusive" to the LE, like it does for the exterior and interior colors.

I’m sorry I don’t have a picture to share, but I saw a brand stinking new 22’ IS350 yesterday with the dark chrome finish factory wheels and they looked sharp. I’d straight trade someone the silver Enkei wheels. I too hope the BBS are an option.

How well does the full range cruise control work on IS models in complete stop and go traffic? Does it start driving again after a full stop or do you have to re-enable the cruise?

I’m also looking at the 2022 WRX and it’s really important for me to have this feature, as my commute involves a lot of traffic and it’s one of the reasons I’m trying to upgrade from my manual. It seems in the WRX you have to re-enable after each complete stop.

Unhappy What's up with the wheels

I just searched through Lexus press releases and this is what I found regarding wheels in the 2022 IS350 and IS500. We are familiar with the wheel specs on the first two articles below, but the third one was surprising. It appears you can spec the IS350 via the DHP package with the same BBS wheels as the IS500 LE - but there is no indication (I have not seen it in any press release) that you can spec the IS500 non-LE with those same BBS wheels. If correct, this is messed up!

https://pressroom.lexus.com/2022-lex...dan-unleashed/
IS 500 will come standard with exclusive 19-inch split-10-spoke Enkei alloy wheels. Not only are they beautiful and intricate, the wheels are approximately 1-pound lighter per wheel in front and 2 pounds lighter per wheel in the rear, compared to the standard 19-inch F SPORT wheel.

Outside, the IS 500 Launch Edition is sure to turn heads with standard 19-inch split-seven-spoke forged alloy Matte Black BBS® wheels from the IS F SPORT Dynamic Handling Package. Not only are they impressive looking, the 19-inch BBS® wheels are approximately 4 pounds lighter per wheel compared to the standard 19-inch IS F SPORT wheel. The vehicle will be sold exclusively in Incognito, an all-new color for the Lexus lineup.

F SPORT models can be further augmented with the addition of a Dynamic Handling Package (DHP) that includes Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). The DHP also includes lighter 19-inch forged-alloy BBS wheels finished in matte black. Not only are they impressive looking, the 19-inch BBS wheels are approximately 4 pounds lighter per wheel compared to the standard 19-inch F SPORT wheel.

I haven't been brave enough to try going to a complete stop with the system, as I have no real reason to. However, in motion, it works great. I really like using it.
