Hell yeah. We love to see it. Now we just need Tahara to crank these babies out. It looks like it’s open road for the rest of October and November so we might get good news soon

Assuming you even get 19.. I'd probably get <15 cuz I'm heavy footed

If gas wasn’t so expensive, me too. I think I’ll drive this car super slow 90% of the time. Then act like a jerk 10% when I need or want to.

Definitely will need to get used to needing 9 quarts as opposed to 5 quarts for my current 2.0L!
Oil from any of the reputable brands will be fine. Oil choice is less important than regular oil changes. Unless you're driving in very particular circumstances and/or have a built motor with unique needs, I doubt you'd notice anything even if you sought used oil testing.

It's kinda the same as if you added it on as an option. If it was standard the MSRP's would increase by about the same amount.

Heck. I wish I could get 19 mpg's on my 350. I'm only averaging around 16 mpg in Los Angeles traffic at $4.99/gallon.

Anyways indeed. 👍🏽

I’ve read most of them (Thanks @TipsyTonio ) in between Teams meetings. I’ve never been this Info Starved for a car before and as a result, realized I never read my ‘16’s manual to this degree! 😜

Speaking of oil changes, isn't the recommended interval 5k miles for the V8? TipsyTonio, any chance you can use your "skills of the interwebs" to dig up the supplemental/maintenance manual? Much appreciation for what you've done already .

Unfortunately it seems it may not be available yet. I see the IS300 RWD manual and the IS300 AWD and IS350 Manual. I will say, it seems that the V8 is certainly a more sensitive engine. The owners manual says that only on the IS500, your maximum RPM's will be limited based off how hot or cold the engine coolant is. So it can start with a limit as low as 3500 RPM and it works its way up from there over time.

For what it's worth, I have the service manual for the 2022 LC500 which has the V8 and also isn't a full blown F-model, and they call for oil changes every 5k.

It's ironic that I can't find the IS500 one, but I can find the one for the 2022 LC500 which hasn't even been announced yet. Lexus works in funny ways.

Well, while there isn't any option to configure options in the IS500 in Canada,we can select combination of interior/exterior colors which mine has already been submitted to my dealer

I’m reaching out to my dealer today to ask for proof of my order being submitted and accepted. So I’ll keep you all in the loop.

My hunch is that maybe they already submitted orders and the one I wanted lined up with what they are getting so they just told me “We can order that configuration”

Most people in line for this car were never promised an order would be submitted on their behalf. The dealer likely asked what was their color preference but I always felt that was just to prioritize people on the list when your color came in. The fact that you're asking for proof of an order being submitted is interesting and kind of funny. Let us know what they say.

I mean, respectfully, if I’m shelling out over 60k for anything. I’m going to want it to be to my liking and realistically there’s no reason why they can’t submit an order for you to regional, who will then assign the cars to dealers that requested them. Especially since this car is mono-spec. All you can pick is whether you want the premium or base, and what color combo do you want. I see no reason for every order not being fulfilled to the customer’s liking.
