I'm with you on that! The good thing about Lexus, the vehicles are over engineered and can take a beating.

That info is old and incorrect. I'm asking Lexus PR for a corrected version to post up. It's been confirmed with the TMC Engineers, Lexus College and Lexus PR as of this past Wednesday, AA80E from the IS F, GS F & RC F is what is being used in the IS 500 F SPORT Performance, not the AA81E used in the other IS models.

The IS 500 might sway me back to Lexus and the IS lineup as well. I really like the idea of the V8 power but without the full F treatment. I really liked my IS 300 AWD and could see myself owning a 3IS again.

Was actually thinking of leaving the IS but this is a nice package! Agree with the nice powerplant without the full sport package. Strikes a nice balance.

I'm trying to confirm through a Lexus source that has been reliable for me in the past that there will ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY be no IS F in the future before I commit to the IS 500. My personal wish is that Lexus uses a de-tuned version of the 4L twin turbo V8, slated to go in both the LC F and LS F. A 575 bhp IS F would be about perfect, help Lexus amortize the cost of that motor and provide enough performance separation between it and the 660 bhp LC F and LS F. I wouldn't want to pop for the IS 500, only to find out later that a new IS F is coming.
Extracting any kind of reliable information will be difficult, especially if true, because Lexus would not want the prospect of another IS F negatively impacting what should be, IMO, enthusiastic sales of the new IS 500. One can only hope.
