It's sad but you can't really blame them. The dealership needs to make profit to exist and pay their staff and by all accounts it sounds like 2022 may be worse than this year for new supply.

PPP loans exist for a reason. These dealers think these are the last cars we will buy, and they fail to realize that all this does is leave a sour taste in our mouths for when we need another car in the future, and the pandemic doesn't exist.

As an FYI - I just realize that the IS500 will not have a moonroof/sunroof available in Canada!

May I ask why you don't want one? Initially I didn't want it on my car, but then it felt like it would be a crime to not get it. I'm aware I'll have to clean the drain frequently to avoid flooding my car

^^ It's not that I don't want one, its that Lexus Canada decided to package the IS500 without one. I suspect they will change that when they offer the 2023 IS500!! The same way that in 2021, you couldn't order any IS300/350 F Sport with a ML even if you went with the DHP, that oversight was corrected for 2022! That is actually disappointing to be honest....Maybe I'll insert an aftermarket one (JUST KIDDING)

To me, it's bad enough at this point in time that we still need dealerships. We have used car companies that will deliver a car right to your door, as well as Tesla doing the same. I don't want to pay thousands of dollars extra for something that I'm already paying tens of thousands of dollars for. This is going to be the first new car I've ever bought, and right now it's really bumming me out that I may be forced to either look elsewhere or keep buying used.

I heard back from my dealership. I am the only person receiving a Launch Edition as it is apparently 1 per dealership in Canada. I asked about price and there is no markup.
