The V8 is back: IS 500 F SPORT Performance

I guess they prefer making SUVs

^^ Still though, if they can't get 2 IS500 in a a dealer, that is not re-assuring. I am happy that I am first but that may not be enough - That being said, don't lose hope as they may be able to ramp up production, so why they may not trying to over deliver now, they may be cautious about not over promise.
I hear what you are saying about the SUV market but they also used the IS500 to launch their Performance line, that is not boding well for that launch....

Dealers around here (So Cal, Los Angeles Area) didn't even know the configurator was up - they all gave me meaningless "once we hear something we'll put you on the waitlist!".
Also looks like they've fixed the configurator erroneously showing the IS 350's exhaust upgrade.

I will write a bit more later as I am on my smartphone at the moment but I am now tagged with the IS500 LE until the car gets here at the end of December. My sales manager will try and get more info about the non-LE for me but this buys me time. While it is not my 1st choice, I am worried that even if some non-LE are allocated to the dealer, it may not be in a manner where customers may get the choice. I am worried that they'll say, we have been been allocated one with (color x and interior y) and that is all we are given. At least with the LE, I would betting exclusivity in the long run.
More to come but I am so grateful to have a dealer who doing his very best to give me some options. He knows my 1st choice is white on white and until he can get me more info, he is willing to tag my name on the LE for now...

Adding to this information. I had a good 30 minute conversation with the inventory manager. She says that she expects that we will see another round allocations for all cars in the next 48 hours. She also told me that she has been asked to submit her allocation preferences by Sunday at the latest, at which point they will start actually allocating cars in the next round. She also told me that once a car shows up in her system, she can tag it for rapid delivery, such that it sits at the port for less time than other cars that haven't been pre-sold or tagged.
