I was contacted today to build the car I wanted online and send them the build to be ordered I went with the premium, USB, black interior.

No word yet on delivery date or pricing, but I asked today. They've always been very fair in the past (after nearly 10 years and 4 cars) so I'm not expecting a mark up. I might pay like $1-2k over if they give me a great trade-in on my ES. Otherwise I will have to wait... fingers crossed!

^^ I really hope yours will go through. I went through the exact same process a few weeks ago only to then have my desired ordered canceled as it "wasn't taken" by the plant. Just hoping that new allocations will be awarded soon but for now, I have at least the LE as a backup plan with my name on that one arriving in late December....

I wonder if they'll tell you what number your LE is when it arrives.

Agreed… it’s not the first time or last time that the Lexus website is fubared..!!

Just a reminder for those who may want to preference or add something to a car in transit or allocation status …

The $1,700 F Sport Axle back exhaust is a 300 / 350 only upgrade
It wouldn’t bolt up to a 500 anyway… Nor would you want too.!!

Here is my post from 9/17/21 - incase anyone wants to add to their special ordered IS 500 or have a Port Installed Option tacked on where applicable

If you special order, some of these can be added (maybe) but I can see most IS 500 will have the Z1 or Z2 Accesory pkgs built into the Window stickers.. They will vary per 4 USA area regions.. North, South, East, West

Things that caught my attention are the CF mirror covers and CF Wing..
I do believe the CF wing is the same exact one found on the IS 350 F SPORT w/ DHP package..

Too bad they didn't make these CF bits standard on the IS 500.

So once again keep in mind these codes are for the entire 2022 IS Line up.. (not IS 500 specific only)

I put this together on an excel file for all to know the codes

Hmmm. I think I'd want the Cargo Net.. Don't know if the Carbon Fiber mirror caps and spoiler are worth it though.. UGH.

Unless they have since corrected it, Joe Z’s pricing was actually last years pricing for the mirror caps. When I checked yesterday they were showing the caps at $1100. Totally not worth it in my opinion. You could go aftermarket for half that. Or the aftermarket stick on ones for like $100

But they're OEM from LEXUS

Jokes aside, yea.. true. I'd rather spend that money on PPF/ceramic coating/tint.

Even though you're paying $61,000+ for the car, it's important to remember that a few hundred dollars here and there for accessories adds up. $1000 for CF mirror caps? Nobody will notice them. After a few weeks neither will I. Totally not worth it. Compared to almost anything else, minus buying a house, $1000 a lot of money and can bring joy a lot of other ways.

I don't see just regular carpet mats listed. How much are those?

Thanks for those who had advice whether I should sell or keep my Prius. I'm still mulling it over. In general though, when selling a car to a dealer, do you get more $ from it when you purchase a vehicle at the same time (trade-in)? I was thinking of keeping it after I get the IS500 for at least a few months, just to see how often I use it and whether I like having it still, but all else being equal I don't want to get a worse offer compared to if I would have traded-in when I bought the IS500.

I feel you. I’m the crazy guy considering buy the $400 Lexus logo puddle lights from Lexus Boutique just because the ones on eBay look so cheap and in some cases, because of the angle of the door, they look warped.

in all seriousness, if you want OEM, waiting until the part numbers are released and try to buy them after the fact for cheaper. Take the wheel locks for example. Lexus has them at $95 if you get them with the car, or $60 MSRP after the fact. I just picked them up for $42 at a Lexus dealer. AND, unlike the $95, I get to keep the 4 regular bolts that come with the car.

my understanding is that regular carpet mats and a first aid kit are standard on the Lexus IS. I asked the same question because I’m used to Toyota land where they charge over $200 for them
