So I put down a deposit at my dealer about 3 weeks ago and they called me last week saying they have an LE coming in middle of December. When I asked if I can purchase and secure the car right now, my SA told me the manager denied the request saying how there is another person with a deposit on the car and they’re going to sell it to the highest bidder?
I’m really close to just taking my money and walking…

^^ I agree, it is disgusting how they play games and leave people hanging. You should not take a deposit on a vehicle that you know already has one. It is not illegal but sure is unethical...

Maybe try a few other dealers and see if they have an LE available. There are PLENTY in the state, and tri-state.

ICEfan - Personally, I would call Lexus HQ and explain your situation, this is not the way Lexus would want its franchisee to represent the brand - It is one thing if they told you upfront that a bidding process would apply and such, but to take your deposit and giving you the impression that it secured you a vehicle is a form of deceit. It is one thing if they were expecting 2 and only 1 was allocated but that doesn't seem to be the case.

It's odd. The dealer that promised me no mark up and no add-ons is also selling a used 2021 IS350 DHP for $63,000. We'll see how this goes.

^^ It is odd - I was just browsing some random dealer's website in the US and are showing 2 IS500 - a white one and a LE, with the white one selling ~70k with the LE selling for ~69K - Bizarre
Can't wait for these to finally arrive and sell so we can see how these are going to go for and such
