I do it because I love this brand and the IS is near and dear to me. I don't do it to promote other things.

In all seriousness I don't visit the other vehicle forums on CL because I don't know the people, culture, vehicles, or topics of interest in those forums...that way I don't post something that rubs somebody the wrong way or looks like I don't know what I'm talking about.
I have members from the other vehicle forums within CL PM for help with their vehicles, which I'm happy to help anyone, but I wouldn't visit those forums purposely.

It's still nice to have you and flipside909 visiting us here to discuss the IS500.
Trust me, we all appreciate the input you provide on here and if someone would ever get pissed off if you went into another car section, I would say that is their problem!! There are a few amazing contributors on here and you are certainly within the top 2 or 3 for sure!!

Believe me, I wished all the F models sounded like the LC 500. The "F" branding is the pinnacle. Even the RC F Track/Fuji Editions with the titanium exhaust sound like a stock RC F.

Don't shoot the messenger: I have a deposit down for the IS 500. The dealer just told me "From what I understand, the IS 500 will be mid to hi $60k".
Please tell me that Lexus wouldn't make such a mistake......

Ouch! The old IS F was around $70k starting though (inflation). So $65k I wouldn’t put it past them! Lol $5k under but still.

Consider the messenger shot!!!! LOL!
It better be low $60K's if they want to sell it...at $66K USD you can get an RCF
I realize it's a sedan vs coupe...but neither has a stellar back seat.

$66k for an RC F? Maybe for a used one.

My 2020 RC F listed at $79k The lowest priced 2021 RC F available in the US is $79k. Most of them are built this way, with a handful of Performance Packages at $90k and Fuji Speedway Edition at $104k.

Keyword is "starting at". RC F is a very low production vehicle. Majority are ordered the way I mentioned previously unless you special order it with no added options. Lean production. Toyota Production System is key.

RCF starts at $66K USD...that means an RCF can be bought for $66K USD.
The lowest priced 2021 RCF is not $79K USD.
However you want to rationalize it, the price is what it is as per Lexus.com.

That's where it starts but not necessarily sold exactly like that. Just like if you go to Build Your Lexus, just because you built it a certain way doesn't mean it's what's available or being built for your region. This applies to the United States. Canada just gives you configurations to choose from.

Disclaimer even says:

My guess is the low to mid $60k range. Highly doubtful it will get to $70k before TT&L. Now if this was an IS F...it would definitely be higher.

$70,000 in 2008 is equivalent to $85,000 today.
