Where can I go in southern California w/o a markup? These guys want an additional 25k for an IS 500. They told me back in September that they only sell for MSRP. They told me they don't mark up cars. Maybe since Autonation owns them they were forced to. Anyways whats a good dealership in So Cal to try?

This is just ridiculous! Bordering on absurdity...I would never pay such adjustments!

"Production at the factories was halted on Wednesday and the suspension is expected to continue for about three days, the spokesperson told Reuters, who added this was prompted by a supply chain disruption in Japan as well as a lack of labour in Vietnam due to the COVID-19 pandemic."

Hi everyone. I've been gone for several years now but am looking to return to the sport luxury market. I built my IS 500 today and have my deposit invoice. Before I pulled the trigger, I watched several reviews. I was a bit mistaken on what I thought this car is and am suddenly having second thoughts. Overall, it sounds like a great car, but it's just not a real F. I previously owned 2 ISFs (one modded, one not), and I'm starting to wonder if I should look at something other than the IS 500. Thoughts?

There would be no issues in passing on the car if you dont want it and you will get your money back, so dont sweat it...

I can tolerate some delays as mine is supposed to arrive at the end of Jan or early Feb but won't take possession until mid april so I have some wiggle room to allow the snow to melt!
I just dont want to see any more cut in production though, these puppies are scarce enough as it is!

sorry I should have included. It’s LE 1387. Dealer markup was discussed early $5k. Was hoping they’d get pressure to drop it. Spoke to GSM today who confirmed dates.

The reason why that IS350 is marked up 10k because its a unicorn right now. Its one of two IS350 in socal. Market premiums change on a daily basis depending on availability.
By the way the IS's are so hot right now, One of my coworkers sold his 21 IS350 to the dealer for MSRP.
These market premiums are real, but sometimes they are over exaggerated. Just make an offer.
By the way I see so many FE coming to the market right now compared to the reg model. so no one should be paying a higher mark up on the FE compared to the regular model.
You also want to look for a dealer with more then 1 FE in stock. If they only have one, that dealer may not be so flexible on their price.

it is sad when paying over MSRP for a car and paying over for a house is standard.
