What are your thoughts on cold air intakes, headers, and exhaust for the IS500, is anyone planning any modifications?
I reached out to RR Racing for their Valvetronic Bazooka Catback. They said they were planning on making one for the IS500 so will probably start with that.

I am not planning on doing any exhaust mods to mine - To be honest, I am much more interested in induction noise than an exhaust note but that is just me. A friend of mine has a Merc with an exhaust that cracks and pops and to me, it just sounds horrible. You hear him coming from a distance and sounds like a car that backfires. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind a somewhat throaty exhaust rumble but nothing overly 'in your face' - Then again, maybe it's my age thing. That is also what makes this car a sleeper, by being somewhat discreet and not revealing all its tricks to the unsuspected public (lol)

I’m with you here..while I admire what amazing mods people do, it’s not for me anymore. I sort of laugh at people with the crazy loud exhausts. Especially when they do it to a Honda Civic. It’s an on going joke to hear one and say “I think your lawnmower is broken.”
Just do electric cutouts and run it open. Simply press a button and it closes. Personally I wouldn't put loud exhaust on this car if I were getting one. I have loud exhaust on my truck if I want to hear exhaust.
