How much to add a transmission cooler? Would it void the warranty?

...I am curious what people feel will happen to the IS 500 now that Lexus has announced they'll be 100% in NA by 2030....That is coming very fast in car years!! This could be either extremely good for us, as owners of this amazing engine, or totally make us look like dinosaurs (lol)

Electrification is unavoidably really. That's the way the industry is moving. Even if we end up keeping our V6 or V8 vehicle/s as weekend warriors, eventually an electric car of some sort will become everyone's main mode of transportation.

As far as feeling like a dinosaur (lol), that's up to the individual. There are plenty of electric car owners now who look down on the rest of us and already think of us as living in the past. Screw it, I'm stubborn and still love the sound my V6 makes when I cold start it in the morning. It's not "required" right now, so I don't feel the need to own an all-electric vehicle any time soon.

Sidenote: I am curious about Porsche's synthetic fuel that they've been working on though. Last I heard their plan was to partner with Exxon and have this miracle fuel available at public gas stations by 2030. It's supposed to cut emissions down by roughly 80% and is safe for any/all combustion engines. Initially, it's going to be expensive (guesstimates are around $9 a gallon), but it'll be worth it for those who still want to enjoy their special older vehicles.

Yes - I think it’s safe to say they are releasing the IS 500 F Sport Performance for the masses of Normal Road worthy “Street Driving”… Grocery Getters

If owners want to take it to the track, you will want Brake Upgrades, Oil Cooler(s) upgrades, etc etc..

Its not coming track ready… For that you will want a true “F” Model Lexus…

This is not the first review with Brake issues and now we see the production model released WITHOUT the external ATF cooler…

Still an awesome NEW Lexus but you have to know it’s mechanical limits with the fire breathing V8 in there

That’s RIGHT… Lexus got smart here..

Many IS F / RC F / GS F owners have done a tone of upgrades over there years up ownership…

Some cosmetic, and the track users mechanical and performance oriented upgrades!!!

The IS 500 will be a great canvas to see what owners do or decide to update in the Performance Dept.

Maybe there will be a whole new line of “F SPORT PERFORMANCE” accessory upgrades for the IS 500 via the Lexus dealership parts counters…

Speaking of the app. How do you know when it's actually connected to the car? I've been waiting for awhile. What is it that you can see when you open it?

Thanks

Same issue here. Dealer told me my IS500 was to be at the Port of Portland almost a week ago, but the Lexus app doesn't show mileage or fuel, making me think the battery is disconnected and it hasn't been transferred over to where the Lexus/Toyota regional distributor slaps on 'port-installed' options. Or it still isn't at the port yet ...

To the best of my knowledge the last vessel to deliver Portland was "Indiana Highway" on 12/01 - that vessel was unloaded and left a week or so ago...I have not looked at what vessel is due next BUT my LE is there....on Saturday at 12:05 PM it was started and I was able to see the gas and tire pressure....now I don't know why that is....but as of Saturday 8 AM my salesperson did not have an update beyond its awaiting processing....my only port installed option is the Window Sills BUT again, I don't know if that has anything to do with a delay or anything else, I think not, I think its just a slow process and a very full vessel.....I would keep checking, I think its probable your car is there and like me, we are waiting...as soon as I get an update I will share and if you do please do the same.....hang in there!
