Seems about right. Mine was there that week. It should be going into transit status, if not already. Mine not transit status Monday with a delivery window of 12/20-12/27.

^^ I am not 100% sure but I think we have debunked the theory of the serial numbers and the limited production # of the IS 500 are not directly linked, in other words, there is no correlation between the serial # and the #/500 of the vehicle.

With your second point, I am not sure I understand and my apologies for that, but are you asking why is car at dealer X gets 2 different units which have different production numbers (i.e. dealer X should have #125 and #126 rather than #125 and #186 for example)?

To make this as clear as day light…. Last 6 of sequence VIN # does not associate with the Badge # issued on a particular “Launch Edition”…

Same applies to a dealer stock number or inventory number / listing.

FACTS

The only way to confirm an LE Badge # is to see a photo or if a new owner or dealership actually posts the VALIDATED information…

^^ Hopefully this is the last time you have to repeat this - maybe mods should make a sticky about it (lol)

I would of assumed that the 5001 number would be sorta close between the Launch Edition plate number. But this may not be the case as #52 is VIN 1175 and #32 is VIN 1174. You would think as they rolled off the production line they would be close to sequential in that aspect. Does Lexus run a dual side by side line? If so maybe one side runs faster?

But no to your second point. I do not expect dealers to get sequential numbers on the Launch Plate.

Again this is and was only an assumption. I know that the last 6 of the VIN can not be coordinated to a badge number as they are NOT sequential for LEs as there are non-LEs within those VIN's. In other words, VIN 1544 could be higher than 1143 and still have a lower LE badge number. That is what I am getting out of this, and just thought it was odd.

19% drivetrain loss to the wheels is right in spec as we have seen 15-20% variance from DYNOs since 2008 on this existing platform…

< Preemptive apology if a dumb question or if its one that has already been covered >

So just to confirm, everyone who is able to track their IS500 in shipment is able to do so after being given the name of the transport ship it is on by the dealer/salesperson? Just didn't know if there was another resource that I'm missing that would allow me to track a vehicle in-transit. Trying not to bother my salesperson - we've agreed on price but from the stories on here I don't want to seem desperate and expose myself to some ADM shenanigans prior to finalizing the purchase.

I've set up the VIN in the Lexus app but mine is still not showing any mileage or fuel level updates. Apologies if this has already been covered - searched for the answer and rapidly went through 270 pages of threads without finding the answer.

In my case I was able to find out when a vessel was due and then found out what was due in port...on that list found vehicle vessel from Japan....but this is when "famous Jake" was giving all of us updates, he has since moved on.....

also, as far as vehicle info, gas etc if you start your subscriptions that come with the car for 3 years I think it prompts the car to update its status...not 100% sure as it could be it doesn't update until the car is started but I started my subscriptions and did get an update on the app........ good luck!
