im about to join in your misery. Ship with mine hits port tomorrow AM and a ship from Korea will also drop a load within 24 hours of that. Talk about a backlog forming fast. Add holidays and bad weather and we are just about stuck in this waiting game 😔

Sorry the chip shortage will not cause Lexus to increase their MSRP prices by $5K, $10K, $15K or etc..etc..

The market adjustment game has been around for a while and now with inventory depleted, some dealerships are taken advantage of the situation and profiting the funds… The mark ups do not help Lexus USA or Lexus Japan get chips faster… It’s definitely a bigger commission for the sales rep and dealerships sales $ numbers.!!

Once dealerships gain back healthy inventory and supply is greater than demand..
Things will go back to normal..!!

And don’t be fooled into thinking you must pay a mark up… There are still plenty of Lexus dealerships not charging any markups…

I would rather purchase outside my area and pay a one way $1,000 shipping fee in an enclosed car carrier than pay a market adjustment/ mark up..!!

Just my .02 ˘ for what it’s worth.

2022 Invoice is already out on Edmunds. The holdback is not though, but I would presume it to be around the same amount.

My thoughts exactly. Hell, I may fly to the location and drive it home. Then I can rack up the break-in miles in one-fell-swoop. 😜

^^ Exactly, I could be spiteful like that too. I would rather give my money to a shipping company than to a dealer who just abuses/gouges their customers.

I understand all that as well. Lack of inventory is a byproduct of chip shortages, etc. Markups/market adjustments are how dealerships can keep their best employees/sales team by paying them properly still. No inventory, no sales, good employees move on.
I've seen PLENTY of people in this thread complaining about their sales guy not knowing diddly squat about the car, sales/shipping process, etc! Comes from them being new/no experience, lack of training, etc Markups help on the dealership level, 100%. Not saying every dealership will do it, just saying don't be surprised if they do. Nickel and dining them in the end, hurts you as a customer. Next thing you know, maintenance item/labor will skyrocket at the dealership, mechanics will be shade tree/untrained, breaking things, doing things incorrectly on your new car, free coffee/snacks will go away, etc. Lol. Just be careful with these nickel and dining these days.
And again, $2, $3k, $5k markup on a $70k car is understandable.....$10k, $20k, $40 IS NOT.....that's just plain being greedy.
But enjoy your IS500's fellas!! My ISF puts a smile on my face EVERY SINGLE TIME I fire it up! That 2URGSE is something special!!! Only thing the 500's need is a JoeZ exhaust.....😶😶😶😶! First thing I did to my F when I bought it back in '14!

^^ I agree, some market adjustments are acceptable to an extent but as you said, some dealers are pushing it way too far and my disgust is directed at those dealership.

Let's just agree to disagree. Charging over the retail price is ridiculous. If the dealer has too high of an overhead, they should audit themselves and see where they can save. Maintenance and service is already the main income source of any dealer. It's like buying a PS5: they sell the console at a loss and make it up later in games. But here, even at MSRP, the dealers are making a profit.

^^ You won't get any disagreement from me there!! I have said the same thing in an earlier posts that some dealers need to lower their overhead and stay profitable, all other businesses do the same. Imagine if restaurants would charge 10$ + 250$ for a market adjustment on a bowl of soup...

Exactly. It's also worth noting how the dealers are going about this. They are not saying "You know, times are tough. Unfortunately we got to put food on the table for our employees. Once the market stabilizes we won't do this anymore. We really value your business and hope you can understand." No. Quite the contrary "The markup is $20,000. We are not willing to budge on it. If you're not going to pay for it, somebody else will. F*** off now peasant"

Exclamation

Well the videos are clear as day. Doesn’t look like the Canadian Lexus Port functions had been processed yet, as the “Fuel Consumption Guide” stickers are not on the windows of the 2 abused Launch Editions.

We can’t just make believe the posts don’t exist and avoid the topic.. Or I guess you can.

So many of these videos now but why not share anyway...

Certainly not a quality review by any means....but it shows the car and the sound

Lucky 😩. I’m not far from you and still waiting. I originally slated for 12/20-12/27. I was 12/20-12/22. That just bumped to 12/23-12/27 yesterday.

Exactly. They ones that are taking it WAYYY to far are making it look bad for the ones that are doing it legitimately/who need it it. Not complaining about small market adjustments take you a long way with face value. You be surprised! Nickel and dimers don't get calls back/calls & emails returned, don't get offered the best services, get skipped over when they decide which new customers get Xmas gifts or gifts for purchasing a vehicle from them, minor things like free battery batteries in key fobs whenever wanted or needed, etc....the list goes on. They'll remember the complainer and whiners. But the ones trying for $10k, $20k plus over on a $65-$70k vehicle, don't be rude about it, just smile and respectfully decline. If you're respectful about it, you may get a call when they decide to bring the market adjustment back down to reality. Let's face it, it's a hot, limited car and we all want it and would like to have it!

I'm assuming "F Status" means 'Freight' status. Luckily our dealer is within a couple hundred miles of both possible ports so it should just be truck freight. I registered VIN with Lexus App a couple weeks ago and it still doesn't show any fuel levels or mileage so not much to go off of there.
I went into “F” status late last week with a delivery window of 12/20-12/27. That narrowed down to 12/20-12/22 on Friday with a status of “F IN TRANSIT TRUCK SHIPMENT.” It didn’t show yesterday. The GM I’m dealing with requested the car be “hot tagged” for shipment through his Lexus rep yesterday with hope of delivery before Christmas. “Hot tag” apparently means they expedite the car processing so it doesn’t have to sit at port longer than it has to. At lest I learned something new.
