Reads like a hit piece for clicks from someone who most likely hasn't driven the car, or many of the cars he compares against it, and for sure couldn't make a better one himself.

It seemed fair to me. The IS500 isn't as fast as the M340i or G70. That's not a secret. It's not as stiff or track-focused as the M340i. That's known and a good thing for some. The interior is outdated in that it's not the latest and greatest. I like the interior but I appreciate it's not everyone's taste.

Correct. I personally do not require ambient lighting. If I want a club atmosphere, I’d go. to. a. club. 😂

The interior is perfectly fine, luxe, and functional.

Anyone currently with a is500 experiencing shift lag like this user is demonstrating?

If so, I wonder if this can be addressed with a software update or in the 2023 is500 lineup.

Kinda looks like he missed the shift. Video makes it seem like he was releasing the right paddle on the lagging up shift, not engaging it. So the car just went on to redline before shifting itself. Could definitely be wrong though.

He says he's in manual mode but he isn't. That's why. Noobish.

He clearly doesn't know how to use Manual mode. You get the quickest shifts in manual and Sport S or Sport + mode, not Drive mode and pulling on the paddles. Rookie driver, sorry. Take these Youtube reviews with a grain of salt. Most of them are clueless sorry to say.

I appreciate the quick response guys, looks like the user in the video will do another manuel shift attempt tomorrow.

Speaking of paddle shifting, anyone planning to upgrade their paddle shifter to an OEM aluminum shifter? Happy Holidays!

How did you guys buy or plan to buy your car? Did you cash out, lease, or finance? I want one so bad, but I am currently saving to buy a house. I have enough to do a cash purchase, but I feel like it would be an irresponsible decision. The most I'm willing to put down is 25k. Unless my math is wrong, my monthly payment would be well over $600. I am 26, never had a brand new car so I'm fairly new to car buying. What are my best options? My credit is 710 and currently making $8k monthly if that'll help. Thanks in advance!

Obviously, paying in cash avoids paying interest, but most people finance. As far as your specific situation, it's ultimately up to you to make the right call. I assume that your monthly income is before taxes and deductions, so you have to factor in your savings for a house, your eventual mortgage payment, properly saving for retirement, and other miscellaneous costs of adulting. With that credit score, you likely aren't getting those advertised rates you see, so if you are putting down 25k, you're looking at financing between 32k-42k, plus taxes, delivery, and any add ons. That monthly payment would look more into the high $700/ low $800 even with an interest rate barely above the advertised rates. Then you have to add on your insurance and costs related to maintaining a luxury performance car.

Agreed. The good advertised rates are for those scores 760 and higher. Get the house settled, observe the cash (out) flow for 6 months, get the savings plan back on track, and then get the car. Your credit score should be higher at that time as well. Good luck!

It’s the way of the world I suppose. Those of us who actually know something, can’t get our grubby hands on one unless we buy it. Hey #Lexus, I live in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, complete with secured parking and a concierge. (For safe keeping.)

Put me on the Press Car list, I promise my vids will not be stupid! 😎
