Default Lexus Steven’s Creek

Got a message from Lexus of Steven’s Creek that my LD will arrive next week. Will fly out from CO to make the purchase and inspect the car and then have it shipped to CO. Super stoked. Stay tuned and badge ID and pics

So I have had the pleasure of putting 500 miles on my IS500 LE already (making the trek home) and have enjoyed every minute of it.
All the creature comforts, heated/cooled seats, Memory seats, power tilting column, radar cruise control, touchscreen carplay/android auto etc were all things I wanted or didn't know I wanted when i had my 2014 IS350. All the reviews complain about the dated interior, but I welcome as a familiar place with all the new features in my eyes this cars brings along.

BTW, this stock exhaust tone isn't bad at all, all the reviews say its too quiet but I can definitely hear it just fine. Its not going to stop me from adding an aftermarket exhaust though 😈

Don't forget break-in is actually 621 miles! I definitely envy you as I'm still waiting for my tint/ppf appointment before actually driving the car, and even then, I still have 600 miles to go...

Actually I have forgot the break-in on every new car I have purchased since the 1993 GTS Celica that I followed the instructions to a T and got 1 quart of oil burned every 1000 miles. Never again.

Or, you can pay double like me for ceramic tint so the dealer would waive the "market adjustment". I'd rather get something for the market adjustment—better if I didn't pay at all. But, I couldn't wait until later in the year (just bought a premium).

I think the stock exhaust is pretty badass. If
it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Yes similar to the IS F / GS F / RC F the OEM seems sound “good”..
But it does suffer from the same crushed flat squeezed piping at the axle sections around the differential area.. As well as some inconsistency in piping diameter from front to back.. (by design)

This platform benefits greatly with the secondary CATs deleted and consistent mandrel bent 2.5” piping..
Essentially a quality aftermarket exhaust will wake up this engine for those that desire extra sound + additional RWHP.

Can anyone who has driven GSF/RCF and now IS500 give their impressions on the IS500 transmission programming?

We know it's the same transmission, but wondering if the software is tuned differently to shift in a more refined way in this "non-F" car (maybe the reasoning behind the controversial "paddle shifter lag" video on YouTube).

Default Is500 premium

Happy New Year everyone ! Just wanted to let you guys know if you were trying to find a premium in the east coast check out Ray Catena of Larchmont, they don’t have any allocations yet but they don’t have any markup and are super nice to deal with. I was supposed get my car from them but I spontaneously bought my LE so I had to take out my place in line. My dealers name was Bob if anyone’s interested, great person to deal with.

I haven't driven an IS 500, but I have driven an RC F and don't recall the paddle shifter delay being any different from my 2021 IS 350. I think the delay is probably related to the same issue that causes the delay in response from the accelerator pedal (especially noticeable on early IS 200t cars due to their turbocharged engines). Keep in mind that transmission is capable of shifting much more quickly than the transmission in the IS 350.

This is a good video for showing the responsiveness of the RC F transmission:
