Having the choice between an LE or nothing, I'd consider it. But due to the fact that I'll be driving it year long, I'd feel bad putting a numbered car in the salt and crap. Anyways, Canadian's LE are pretty much all gone afaik.
My dealer should get the LE this week, I'll for sure go see it if I can!

Keep in mind that transmission is capable of shifting much more quickly than the transmission in the IS 350.

This is a good video for showing the responsiveness of the RC F transmission:

Great video demonstrating RCF’s AA80E (normal mode) vs. is500 AA80E (sport S+) in the aforementioned video.

Meh, I'm getting an LE and using it year round.

Something interesting I've noticing digging into people's profile that have posted in this thread. You get a wide range of ages and Join Dates. What is most particularly interesting to me is of the join date range; spanning from less than a month old to ones that have been around 10+ years like myself.

That's great! And it means Lexus did something great and released a product that apleased the devoted fan base of the brand as well as bring in newly minted fans. So much excitement from this release. I hope all you newer members stick around , contribute more to the forums and make forums great again!

^^ I agree, I don't see how the fitment for the 2021 IS 350 RWD wouldn't fit the 500. It would different if one ordered based on the AWD as that one has the hump but 350 RWD and 500 RWD should have the same fitment IMO

I didn’t realize how important this page was until I picked up my ‘06 IS 350 in 2011. The melting dash situation was a hot topic here, but there wasn’t a peep out of Lexus. My dash was fine, but the handles on the door cards were….yeesh.

If it wasn’t for the combination of real-world owner experience and honest-to-goodness expertise, I would’ve come out of pocket to replace everything. Instead I got everything replaced at no charge, because of the info here.

Likewise, with the IS 500, I would’ve gone bat-crap crazy without this page. The lack of dealer info and communication from Lexus sucks butt, but I can take comfort in that I’m not an island.

Lexus Accessory All Weather Liners are great. Weathertechs are a close second.

We know it's the same transmission, but wondering if the software is tuned differently to shift in a more refined way in this "non-F" car (maybe the reasoning behind the controversial "paddle shifter lag" video on YouTube).
The IS 500 F SPORT's shift programming is similar to the current 2020+ RC F transmission programming but a little more laid back than the RC F in my experience. The trans and diff gearing are identical however.

Congratulations!

Off topic, I am a big fan of the standard Canada-spec Lexus All-Weather Mats. I ordered a set for my previous 2015 GS 350 F SPORT from my good friend Norman at Erin Park Lexus! They're easier to clean and are more pliable than the US-Spec Lexus All-Weather Mats. Thankfully the newer All-Weather Liners are a big improvement as they're now just as easy to clean.

^^ except they don't provide enough ability to catch the water from the snow that melts once it comes off your boot/shoes. They would need have deeper grooves and the ability to prevent it from sloshing around. I agree they look good and are indeed pliable, They would work well in climates that have little to no snow - Personally, I would rather have these inside the car year round than the carpet ones but for harsh Canadian winters, I would have something more rugged than these.

I will say that I applaud all IS 500 owners that drive their vehicles in the winter and prove my theory that RWD with good winter tires can work in snow areas and that AWD is not absolutely necessary

I think if I lived in Canada and I wanted to drive a sedan in the winter, I would buy a beater FWD Camry…my brother who lived in upstate NY swore by his.
Of course with the average price of a used car being around 29K these days, this is easier said than done! And it also makes a new 60K Lexus seem like a bargain.
