^^ That is highly unlikely from the press release of the IS 500, the announcement they made there was pretty much a confirmation an IS F is coming and this new F Sport Performance is here to stay....but I don't think it will be NA V8, more like turbo 6 or some sort of electric motors..

I'm having a tough enough time waiting to get an allocation....no way I will be waiting until Lexus announces they will discontinue.

Oh and I still miss Jake!

They're easier to clean and are more pliable than the US-Spec Lexus All-Weather Mats. Thankfully the newer All-Weather Liners are a big improvement as they're now just as easy to clean.
Funny - I bought my car from Norman as well, a total gentleman and a fantastic help through the whole process!

Yeah, I work in the Canadian auto media and they've all but confirmed that the new infotainment (as seen in the 2022+ NX) will trickle down into the rest of the lineup. It's not an OTA update or an available update for our cars, but the next refresh for the IS will get it. Will the 500 make it to the next refresh, I have no idea.

Worst case scenario, one can still wait until Lexus announces they are going to discontinue the IS500 then to pull the trigger.
Not always. You might eek out a little bit more value by waiting for the late model years but there's always an opportunity cost no matter which way you go. By waiting, the trade-offs might be (1) you won't get to enjoy the car during its debut year(s) when it turns the most heads including your own and (2) if you're financing, you won't pay the car off sooner in your lifetime. Consider a scenario where the sooner the car is paid off, the sooner someone can use their $ for something else, like a larger house that they couldn't afford now due to income restraint or likewise couldn't afford a large house payment + IS500 payment in 3 years.

I understand in the year 2030 and beyond that a 2025 IS500 will be worth more than a 2022 model, but if you can afford this car in the first place that is a marginal amount (maybe $8,000 max all else being equal) of your total net worth. Maybe you get a better suspension or maybe you get a HUD, maybe both. But is that really worth waiting 3 years of your youth?

Now if the 2022 model year turns out to be a dud, like it burns oil, then yes, you saved yourself a world of headache by waiting. Let's hope that's not the case.

Agreed. If avoiding the albeit cruddy infotainment is worth putting off enjoying a 472hp unicorn, then by all means wait away. I’m definitely fine with using CarPlay almost exclusively, and plugging a $100 wireless CarPlay USB adapter to make things even easier. Probably would be using the CarPlay approach even with the newer Lexus infotainment anyway as it keeps things consistent between vehicles for me (tech head) and my (technophobe) wife.

Totally agree. In my opinion the IS 500 is already a classic, even though it isn’t really out yet.

So was anyone able to get their hands on the 2022 IS brochure? My dealer doesn't even have it yet.. and I've already bought a 2022 IS500. Lol.

I am of the same mindset - waiting doesn't always make sense. I understand if a car company introduces a brand new design with new and unproven powertrain but in this case, the car should not have any surprises. Sure, they MAY come out with some new goodies but that will always happen, so if one waits for the 2023 model, maybe one will want to wait to see what the 2024 will bring out and so on. At some point, you just need to embrace it and jump both feet in and enjoy it - To me, life is short and I would hate to wait 1 or 2 years and then find out that I have a terminal illness before I even get the car. Life is short and it can be taken away at any time so enjoy it to the fullest.

For a second, I thought it was a video from the Toronto car rail yard but then noticed there was no snow in the background (lol)

With this crowd?! I intentionally didn’t mention ‘twinkies stuffed in gloveboxes’. The public ribbing potential was way too high. ☺️☺️☺️
