They can ask as much as they like… The educated consumer will know how NOT to pay more than the MSRP.

So he thinks people will be able to start making custom orders next week? I haven't heard anything of that nature on my end here in Canada and in fact, I was told that the production of the IS 500 will be very tight for the 2022 MY and that custom orders may not be very easily accepted but that could be in Canada only. Mine won't arrive for another month anyway so I'll see if more info is available by the time it gets there....lots can change in a month, especially given that for teh last month, things were relatively quiet with the period leading up to the holidays and such - Things should start resume a bit more now however, curious the effects that omicron will have on more global supplies (parts and labor)
Let me edit.

Yep, that's effectively @TooDeep that had the car in our dealer's parking lot. I guess he's enjoying it now!
I could post photos of the white interior. I wish the USB/White combo will not be that common.

Hey!! I came from a 2020 STI too! I wondered if there was someone else who made my kind of swap. What do you think of the Lexus compared to the Subie? I myself miss driving stick, and sorta miss the turbo rush lol. But I can’t have both! Happy with the switch. Hope yours is working well for you as well! Nice colour!
I own a limited Crystal White 2020 STi with Gold wheels. Love the brembos, love the tune on it. It's decent 12 second car. My concerns with the 2022 IS500 is the weak, Ford focus looking brakes! What the heck!? Looks so lame! They couldn't dish out 6 piston red, or blue, or yellow, etc!? Looks so lame. That alone makes not want to buy the IS500. So upsetting!

Feel free to stick with your STI and its massive brakes - but outdated motor.
Edit: Looks like the STI rotors are 13.4 inches, so they're actually smaller rotors than what the IS500 has. The STI does have more pistons in its calipers.

I'm rather happy knowing I won't have ringland failure and an engine that can take me to 200k worry free.
To each their own.
It's much easier/cheaper to swap calipers than an engine. Just staying.

In my mid-30s, I'm also not interested in a car that looks like I should be drifting in Tokyo with Han in the passenger seat.
