Not worth it in my opinion. I will always say that anything over MSRP is dumb and a waste of money. God forbid you end up totally your car with 28 miles on it like another forum member, you will certainly lose that money that you gave over MSRP
If anyone can snag that car from JM, I am sure it'll be at sticker. JM is very competitive in their pricing. Their communication is their one drawback in my experience. A@DLPTony , Looks like they sent your car to Puerto Rico by accident.

I just called JM - sold and all allocations sold. JM has two LEs at 10k over. It seems there are quite a few LEs out there not selling well.

If you put the deposit on a decent credit card then you can always dispute the charge through the credit card company if they try changing the terms on you or you can reach an agreement on price/etc and they won’t give you back your deposit (even if nonrefundable). Amex is great in situations like this.

That, or offer to do a combo deposit. Say $500 nonrefundable and rest refundable?

Lexus of Palm Beach which is a sister dealer owned by Autonation does the same thing. For what it's worth I personally don't find it to be a big deal. When I ordered by car I gave a $5000 non refundable deposit which was applied to the car. The inventory manager said it was just a means of making sure that I didn't trap them with a car they nobody else would like, but she was very transparent in saying that my spec was such a great spec that if I needed to back out, she'd refund me the $5000 as she knew she'd sell it in no time.
Jesus what ceramic did you get? I'm getting Llumar Formula One Pinnacle from a computer cut installer for $309. And it's not like its a no name shop. They've been around for years and have hundreds of 5 star reviews.
I was not expecting them to charge over sticker on their LE's. It seems very unlike them.

I beg to differ. My AMEX told me to shove the card where the sun doesn't shine when I had to cancel my 4 day New York City trip that legally required me to quarantine in a hotel for 3 days because of a new order from the governor. They asked for a bunch of papers and still told me to beat it. (To the mods, I'm not trying to start a political debate and if one ensues, it wasn't my intention. Just stating my experience with a chargeback.)

Seems just like security on their end. Do it man! It's your exact desired color combo, with "add-ons" that seem kinda reasonable, not just a mark-up! As others have mentioned, might be many more months or next year until you can find one again in Cali.

I heard from two dealers that Lexus sent a letter to all dealers strongly discouraging them from selling outside their immediate sales area.

Lol it's because they know that most dealers from certain areas of the country are all charging over MSRP so people are sourcing cars from all over the country and those dealers with addendums are sitting with their cars for longer than they would like, so they are probably complaining.
