It's alright man. Good things come to those who wait. In the future you'll be able to act as roadside assistance for your cousin when the boat breaks down lol

Since I’m the only non-MOPAR in the family, they’ll say I’m stuck up. My consistent response is, nope…y’all are just stupid.

Then again, they think the interiors are just as lux as Lexus. That’s all you need to know… Very well-to-do people do not necessarily mean smart in every aspect.

Yeah, those Challengers are doodoo! *Laughs nervously while hiding the fact that's the car I wanted before the IS500 was announced*

Hahahah same here. I've spent countless hours looking at videos on the Challenger Scat Pack Widebody. Their design department absolutely knocked it out of the park. The engineering and QC department..... not so much...

I did a 24 hour test drive of a Challenger Scat Pack with Carmax. Was a lovely car, engine and transmission were great, just enough tech to be fine as a daily, and brought a smile to my face the whole time driving it. However, the dealership experience was trash and was what ultimately turned me off (talking Dodge dealers; Carmax was great and let me test drive a bunch of fun cars, no questions asked). All the Dodge dealers had to do was NOT give me the run around, and they were selling a car.

I can tell you from experience, Dodge upped the quality game in the new Hellcat Durango & TRX. Still no Lexus, but it’s better. Their Chargers, Challenger, and the old SRT 10 Viper truck…,..not so much.

...not to be a party pooper or a pseudo moderator but let's make sure we bring it back to the IS 500 before it gets derailed further

Carolina - I think you are making the right decision to hold out for the 500, so while you may not get your GW color, you will still be very well served....

Sorry to go too far off topic lol I love me some big, dumb muscle cars.

But today, I do get to try out a Lexus V8 for the first time. Local place near me has a used RC F that I am going to try out. I've driven the newer IS, but only V6, so this will be me putting all the pieces together, so to speak. Being that I have to wait until spring to get my 500.

I wish I had driven an IS 500, but I have driven an RC F, and it was by far the best Lexus I have driven. I loved it. It felt like it was super comfortable and could be driven every day, yet it still cornered flatter and more eagerly than a regular F Sport model. And the engine was great, too... Journalists often make it seem like you have to wring it out to get moving, but I thought it felt strong the whole time and sounded great of course.

You'll never hit 25mpg...I average about 19mpg in my ISF and its the same engine pretty much.

Well being that I max out at 17 MPG currently, this will be a welcomed improvement lol

^^ Keep in mind that the fuel efficiency of the V8 will improve after about 3000 miles or so, we need to let the engine break in and such...

So are you getting your IS 500 this year or next year?

I did email Lexus USA and here is the response I got.

Thank you for contacting Lexus.

We appreciate the opportunity to clarify that Lexus National Headquarters is the wholesale distributor of new Lexus vehicles in the continental United States and Alaska. We provide a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for vehicles sold in the U.S. However, all new Lexus vehicles are sold directly through Lexus dealers and therefore the final price of a vehicle and any associated trade-in valuations are subject to negotiation between the customer and the dealer.
