I agree, front seat sound is better than rear. I think the rear doesn't sound as clear in the mids and highs.

Also, hard agree on the bass, recently I found I was giving myself a headache because of the bass and had to dial it back. It bumps when it comes to bass.

disclaimer - I have a 350 not a 500, but I am sure the Mark Levinson is the same.

That’s not normal for Normal. Should be silky smooth

^^ LMAO - I agree, he'll have to change his handle to OLDYTONY - I can just imagine him getting home and telling his GF, not tonight, I have a headache!! (LOL)

On the stereo discussion, even my Non-ML system, the sound is very front biased so I have dialed the fade a bit more toward the rear to give it a more balanced sound and find it sounds better that way...

Actually every new Lexus' Premium Audio (Pioneer) or Mark Levinson system has a front soundstage bias.

Update for yall, they said there is a bad gasket between the down pipe and exhaust. They are pretty sure, if not positive thats the issue. Apparently, there was a discussion with all they techs about it. So heres to hoping that resolves the CEL once and for all.

That sounds exactly like what my problem was. Gasket = flange?

It’s a PITA; you have to call dealerships and ask if they have any allocated IS 500s w/o reservations. That’s the script I use.
I called him yesterday and you were right, he’s very decent and upfront about everything. They sell at MSRP + $1700 for their 7 year coating. This is non negotiable. Although theirs (Roadvantage I believe) is arguably better than Resistall.

Can't stomach the $1700? Wait, I thought you wanted red on white...

I could stomach much more than that, but I won’t even pay $1 extra for something that has absolutely zero value for me. I’m looking for blue on red, but would’ve settled for red on white, however, not for $1700 extra at a dealership several hrs away when I can get the same car for $1200 more locally.

I plan on covering the entire car with PPF. Not only would I be paying extra for the so called coating but then would have to pay someone to strip them off to apply PPF. I tried explaining this to Cam and he said he could talk to his manager into not applying the coating on the exterior but they’d still apply it on the interior, ok fair enough but here’s the kicker - they’d still charge me the full $1700! Even Cam realized how ridiculous this was but said he couldn’t do anything about it because that’s what the manager said.
