I ran into the gasket issues other described above, the drive back home did a number on it sort of, so my car is in the shop, but holy cow was it an amazing drive home nonetheless. Lookin' forward to driving this car for years to come.

What's the story of your decision to not go through with it. Usually, it's about money and that is totally understandable. Sometimes, we get too pumped up and then when the time comes to sign on the dotted line, reality kicks in. Nothing to be ashamed of even if you don't at an is350! Half the fun is enjoying the forum and that is free!

Its a combination of things. A wife that doesn't think we need another car, 70K price tag (55k is little more nice to swallow), V8 fuel consumption and premium fuel prices, another garage spot being taken and having to move the lawn mower out and thus requiring buying another shed, a serial numbered car as a daily, and lastly I have a weekend car already in the AE86. I really just want a luxury daily driver with the new features (And the BBS wheels lol)
Little worries about the exhaust issues ! But you can still drive correct ? I believe Lexus will fix any issue. Especially in Canada. Or it can go back for a new rcf.
Spoke to a new dealer today, Hennessy Lexus of Gwinnett, and was informed they have a non-negotiable $3000 ceramic coating charge. (In addition to other add-ons.) I politely said thank you for your time, but no. Her response: “Well unlike other dealers who apply market adjustments, we’re giving the customers something.” 🙄
In other news, spoke to one of my original dealers and they confirmed what was posted here earlier, spec orders will be accepted very soon.
I was at Henessey Lexus of Atlanta today. They told me they had an allocation for a USB on black that’ll be here in 45 days. Price was MSRP + $1936 added bs (resistall, lojack, tint etc). When I asked if they’d get rid of the extra stuff and just sell the car only at MSRP, he said he’d talk to his manager and asked if I’d put down a deposit for that car if the answer was yes? Not wanting to play these games I just told him to keep the car and left. So tired of these games these idiots play.
Anyhow, who are you using in the Atlanta area? I’m at a loss of who to deal with since most of the ones I’ve contacted are adding on extra value packages to the deal. And if custom orders am will start getting accepted soon then I’ll just wait for that.

AJinDFW - Assisting other enthusiasts getting an IS 500 is a great gesture and it is good that you are assisting a dealer that treated you well - It highlights how a good service and treating customers fairly will spread good reputation compared to the "other" dealers that shall only try and gouge
I 100% agree they missed the mark with not making this standard on the IS 500 or even the LE..
It’s just thrown in the DHP package for the IS 350 only..
Now it can be ordered separately for around $1,000 as well as the OEM CF Mirror covers..

I think Lexus is trying to keep the 2022 IS350 DHP appealing to some buyers. The difference between the base model IS500 and the IS350 DHP is a couple thousand dollars. Do you want the the look or power?

Hennessy Lexus of Atlanta is my main dealership and they’ve held a deposit since March/April 2021. Most of the dealer add-ons I want, so that’s a non-issue for me. The rando $600-$800 security system will be a bitter pill to take, but I will cross that bridge when I get to it.
My sales guy at Sewell told me they got this in and the buyer backed out. USB/White with Black Geometric Trim, Premium, at MSRP. BTW I have no interest in this and get nothing out of it, just want to help fellow enthusiasts and a sales team that treated me very well. My sales guy said he'd give dibs to anyone I refer, so either call Maury at Sewell at 214-352-8100 or PM me if you have any trouble reaching him.
Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing but the wife joined me for a joy ride last night. After some miles I asked if she’d like to take the wheel since all I’ve received up til now was rolling eyes and snarky comments for the 500. And to her total dismay she loved driving the car and enjoyed the sensation, the seats, the engine tone, the planted feel. This morning I wake up to, “when are you going to get my car ready for more drives?” She did not like the GS350 but apparently she is super fond of the IS platform.
