These are some crazy times. It's a miracle Lexus eked out any IS500s late last year as problematic as they are. The 2022 IS500 is going to be rare, like the 2021 IS300/350 was. I don't know if that's a good thing for resell value. Probably not, unless they stopped producing the IS500 altogether forever right now. Haha how cool would that be???? (speaking as an owner)

So Lexus sent an 'acknowledgement' letter today titled in an incredibly adversarial way ("MyLastName vs. Lexus", like it' a court proceeding). In this letter Lexus states that I have asked for the vehicle to be repurchased, which isn't the case as I specifically asked both in writing and verbally for it to be replaced. Regardless they're saying it'll be 30-45 days before they reach a 'decision' - no doubt Lexus' legal department will decide against me as it should be obvious to everyone on this forum and elsewhere that a car which I've only had in my driveway for two days out of 22+ days is up to Lexus' standards.
As for my vehicle itself, it still sits dormant at the dealership awaiting the replacement of one exhaust manifold. Why they aren't replacing both exhaust manifolds as both exhaust banks are throwing codes is beyond me. Even worse they're now making me 'authorize' repairs, as if someone would be fine with the car just rotting away in their driveway unrepaired and unusable. And this all is without getting into how many bolts/clips/brackets/sensors/etc/etc/etc have to be removed & properly replaced just in order to replace an exhaust manifold on a car with as tight of an engine bay as the IS 500.
