I'm not going to argue with any of this . No question about it - from an enthusiast's perspective, the 500 commands a different level of respect . Hands down. For most of the general buying public, they don't see any difference or could care less. I was talking to a guy in a supermarket parking lot today who had a brand spanking new 22 IS300, and mentioned to him about the 500. His response: "why on earth do you need so much horsepower???". My response:. "I dunno, to be on top of the food chain?". Lol.
If I didn't have a 21 IS350 already, and was in the market for a new car, a daily driver , etc, no question about about it I would snap up an IS500 in a heartbeat . But to trade it in now , dish out another $20K+ for exactly the same car except for the V8 just seems like a hard pill to swallow. I'm seriously considering just keeping the 350, shelling out even more and getting an LC500, which seems way more car than the IS500 with its 10 speed auto, world class interior, etc . The crazy part about all that is that is exactly what the wife wants me to do! Anyhow, the IS500 (or LC500) are extraordinary vehicles , and will be treasured pieces for years to come . We will all be driving electric appliances in the not so distant future .
Your wife is telling you to get an LC500, am I reading that correctly?? Please go and order one immediately if true

Once again TGPCanada, you summarized and described exactly my situation minus the LC 500. I love the LC but won't go that route at this time. I am however, like you, keep my IS 350 for now and see where I go in 2023
Answer - Yeah, I do every 2 years and I knew when I got the 2021 that the 500 was coming but there was too many unknown at the times (cost, design etc) so I rolled the dice and figured if I loved it, I would flip, if not, I'd hold on to my 350. I really like the 500, I just don't love it enough at this time to justify the 20+K to get just some extra power but lose other goodies (sunroof, wheels and interior color) but I will be super excited to watch you enjoy yours
I'm getting super impatient waiting on some IS 500's to show up at the dealer I got on the waiting list at. I mean this CT200h has been comfy and dependable for years now, but it's a real slug
love my ct200h f sport too. My daughter drives it mostly these days.
Nothing pops up on the dash, nothing in the car logs. All I could think of is it is related to the Lexus app and the driving rating thing on that.
So I had the driving rating thing turned on for a couple of days. It logged some hard cornering and braking events but I never experienced any beeps or other sounds in the car. Hmm.
@wthrman2 - Awe man! I’m sad, but totally understand your position. When you come down South, it’ll just be a dude meetup, instead of focusing on the 500s. 😜
@TGPCanada - Personally, the LC 500 is the car I truly t-r-u-l-y want, but every now and then, I like to drive a few friends to dinner. Before COVID, my tires were replaced every 15 months and I had TireRack deliver them to the condo. (The concierge HATED those deliveries! 😉 ) I could load all 4 into the car and take them to Lexus for installation. I can’t do those things with the LC.

This is exactly my position! When the redesign was revealed without the power boost, I was super bummed. I loved the redesign, but couldn’t justify ditching my current for roughly the same thing. I’m glad I waited as well, it made the choice to get the IS 500 easy. Now if I can find my damn car w/o the markups, I can get this show on the road! 😎
