Depending on where you live in the ATL, between 850 and 950 miles. I've done a similar drive in both the IS F and GS F, and it takes about 13 hours driving time. I've done it solo in a day more times than I'd like to count.

I considered driving mine about 13 hours too. But, between flight costs and time the difference for shipping was very reasonable for me. And I didn't have to worry too much about the car getting beat up before it got PPF.

How is your PPF? Finding it worth it already? The shop that did my tints offered to match the price of Xpel PPF from another shop I got quoted at, for $1650 full front. They did a great job and are giving me 30 days to come back to do it. I can't decide though.

Makes sense. For me shipping was going to be at least $2000 (800+ miles). Instead 2 plane tickets for me and my wife + a mini vacation + a cool story was only $400. I think I spent about $130 on gas to drive back.

Even if nothing happens and I don't get impacts (doubtful) I'll still be happy. I didn't get it on the previous fun car and regretted it. Especially with any vibrant paint. Chips are super visible and eye catching.
Cost to get them touched up decently by a pro is easily half or more of the PPF and then there's no guarantee you don't just get more the second you leave the body shop. Plus even a grizzled body shop veteran won't be able to make it look great with just touch up. You have to respray which is a big yikes for 4 stage paint. 3 stage respray on a car with a 1" idiot gash on a fender self inflicted by a workout band cost me almost $2,000.

I think it's absolutely worth it if you care about the long term appearance and condition of the paint.

I'll also offer this, I've had chips in every single hood of every car I've owned. Bay Area roads are horrible, Heavy commercial trucks are everywhere. It's impossible not to tail or avoid them. They get all kinds of crap airborn and you drive through their debris field hearing the impact to metal and windshield. With the PPF it's not so worrisome. Definitely has value where/when I drive.
