After the only reasonably priced USB on red in the entire country was snagged by @DLPTony lol I lost all hope of finding that spec in a reasonable time frame and decided to “settle” for a Red on black that just popped up in my somewhat local GA market. This was my second color choice as I’m not a fan of black interiors. But the infra red exterior color is so stunning! I’ll probably “upgrade” to a USB on red in a few years towards the end of it’s lifecycle.

Does anyone know what the front bumper’s ground clearance is? I’m planning on towing it back home on a uHaul car trailer and the front tire stops of the trailer are 6 inches high.

Just an update that we've crossed 2750 miles with no trouble other than a flat tire because my neighbor replaced his fence. Car is still a blast to drive, honestly the most fun car, love it even more than my Porsches, most fun car I've bought in probably 15-20 years. Fast enough, handles well, simply beautiful (I've gotten many compliments on the beautiful car, and people don't usually go out of their way to compliment your Lexus as they would a Ferrari, but in 2 months' ownership, I've been approached by at least a half-dozen people), faster than the rest of yours because Infrared cars have more power, cooler than you because Chad drove Infrared in the Lexus ad (sorry, blu3 cru). . .anyway, rambling on but still haven't gotten my PPF done and haven't gotten an exhaust yet. Honestly, this car brings back memories of being a 14 year-old who got his first YZ-125 and would go out to the garage in the middle of the night just to sit on it and start it. I challenge you to find a better OEM sound system in any car under $100K. Okay, enough rambling.

I feel very fortunate that someone backed out of their purchase and I was able to get a car at MSRP. If I could go straight trade to Cloudburst/Red I'd take it, but since we all know that won't happen, I'm very happy with Infrared/White.

The car probably pulls hard to limited top speed of 149, because it's pulling hard at 135, or so I hear.

Anyone who's thinking of getting one of these and is on the fence, just go out there and get it. It's just an all-around awesome car. Probably best at nothing but damn great at everything.

LOL! You know what, I think you’re right! The planets just happened to align for me. When I saw Shannon’s contact info, I was on the couch and dialed, while he simultaneously said good bye to the dude who ordered and test drove the car. If he hadn’t hesitated and said he wanted to think about it, I wouldn’t have been able to swoop in.

That’s a really interesting idea, trading in a 2022 for the last model year. If there are improvements, I might have to consider the same. 🤔

Keep the BlueCrew Faith! 💙❤️

::heehee:: The Infrared is pretty high on the bad a$$ meter, but not the highest! 😉

In two weeks, I’ve put 1,214 miles on this car. I’ve never driven that much within a short amount of time, but I can’t stay out of the thing! The car will have all of its papers, but it will be a *high mileage* classic for sure.

@AJinDFW You hit the nail on the head. It is a tremendous value that honestly surprises me as my 1st Lexus. It is just old school enough while being modern to remind me of late 2007-2010 M3s and C63s. A wonderful era for sport sedans.

Porsche's aren't fun on the street unless it is on track or mountain road carving. I think I'll sell my 4S and try to find a 718 GT4 if the market cools off a little.

Totally accurate on the sound system. Better than the Burmeister and the Meridian in our other cars. I find myself enjoying jazz again.

Am I turning into my father?

I third the sentiment! But I’ll never sell my Carrera, I’ve had it garaged since day 1 and plan on passing it down to my son when he’s finished college.

I think a lot of the feedback from owners is accurate. The IS500 loses every objective performance category and is missing a lot of the latest technological and engineering advancements that newer performance sedans have. But you know what, it's the fun factor and pure enjoyment that had allowed me to remember what it is to enjoy the drive and not care about spec sheets.
I'm at about 2900kms since picking up mine on Jan 31st. It's interesting to see how many others lucked out with their purchases at MSRP like me. I didn't pre-order mine, and stumbled upon my LE that was a cancelled order. I would have preferred the USB 2.0 as I had that colour in my 2016 IS350. Best blue in the industry - the 5 stage silver undercoat really adds depth. Incognito is the complete opposite but strangely gets some attention.

It doesn't really lose terribly to other offerings, and in fact, it's on-pace when it comes to acceleration.

Addictive, but not all that efficient. With all the power at the tippy-top of the rev range, no Lexus V-8 has ever really put down any acceleration figures to shame a contemporary Ford Mustang GT, and the same holds true with the new 2022 Lexus IS500 F Sport. On our test strip, this power coalesced into a 4.3-second 0-60-mph sprint, with the quarter mile claimed in 12.7-seconds.

That's about a microwave-minute off the latest BMW M3's 3.5-second 0-60-mph scoot and its 11.6-second quarter-mile time, but it's not facing off against the M3, is it? This is a new foil for half-caff sport sedans like the BMW M340i, and in that arena, it keeps tone with almost uncanny precision. Against that BMW, the Lexus is 0.1-second slower to 60 mph, and matches it down the quarter mile. The 2021 IS350 F Sport? Blasted to oblivion by 1.4 and 1.5 seconds, respectively.
Being 0.1 second slower than the M340i and matching it in the quarter mile means that, in a roll race, the IS 500 would win more often than not.

Sure, but the M340i also only has an advertised 382 HP. It's a bit tough to explain to people why my 472 HP car is basically just as fast as a 382 HP car. I think that's what is meant by the IS500 "losing" objective comparisons.

Yeah but the M340i and IS 500 are pretty close in price. Plus, I think we all know BMW horsepower is always about 10% lower than reality.
