Thx for info!
I think because of price points potentially crossing with the diff F models Lexus wanted to try and price this a bit less so saved some $$$ by not doing the above mentioned.
Personally I look at this car as a remake of the original ISF, while it might not be a full fledged modern F car it’s definitely an ISF in my mind and it’s coming with everything you would have gotten with old ISF’s
Big V8 with big power.
Good Transmission.
Good suspension.
front 4 pot brakes like old ISF (not the greatest I know)
Limited slip diff
I own a 350 and have been absolutely hoping and praying they dropped a v8 into the IS...waiting this long I personally couldn’t care less about 4 pot vs 6 pot, bbs rims, torsen vs TVD diff and some visuals. IMO obv some will.
I’m just glad I can hopefully in the next year or 2 get one and feel a noticeable difference in performance from my 350.

Like others have said, they are taking out the full F brakes, expensive seats and other interior details, TVD option, and many other small things, so it's going to be somewhat cheaper for sure. Just having this engine in a modern 4-door platform that doesn't totally break the bank (GS F) is good enough for me.

I think we can all agree that it's great Lexus decided to bring back the 2UR-GSE. I'm on my 2nd 2UR-GSE powered Lexus...i'm ready for the next!

We do agree that it's great the 2UR is back in the IS, many people have been waiting for it.
No manual transmission though.

I wouldn’t keep my hopes up especially this car being non F car. If I’m in the market for a new car I might consider snatching up but then I also feel like this car is too little too late it should have been released 8 yrs ago. With $4 gas in my area it will be a hard pill to swallow to fill up this thirsty engine.

Not worried about the GSF losing more value cause this isn't an F. Interior for this car is another major let down why would I want the same thing from 8 years ago, when the GSF has a bigger and better interior.
In my opinion, the car is late to the show, but it will be a good option for people that want a NA v8. Compared to other brands V6 TT. Now if the F model has a v8 TT we can talk. Was honestly hoping we saw some kind of performance hybrid for the IS.
GSF is a legend that won't come back in the foreseeable future.

I'm dissapointed. I was looking for a new isf, not a f sport. Imo not worth trading in my isf. Unless they will release a new isf with 600hp.....but knowing lexus that won't happen. I'll rock with my 08 isf until the wheels fall off, or until I can afford a 911 turbo

It's essentially an ISF by a different name, no? Lol
