What is considered "leasing well"?
I’m sorry, I assumed that terminology floated around the enthusiast quite a bit. It’s available to franchise employees.

im about to derail the thread, but it’s all subjective.

for example:
A 55k is350 lease for 550 with 2k down
A 65k is500 leases for 750 with 2k down

the is350 leases better compared to the is500 in this scenario.

had no idea that referred to an employee perk. Didn’t even know you were an employee. To me Lexus master certified sounded like some fanboy who tracks a lot of Lexuses like Akio Toyoda. Since we’re on the topic of employee discounts, does everyone at the dealership get one? I was thinking about applying for a part time job as a barista. LOL

loved and been a fan boy of these cars for over a decade, can’t help but to work with them. Believe it or not on a good day, you can get the same or better pricing then an employee. But right now due to the chip shortage, no discounts. We just get a lease credit that is super taxed after getting “certified” So not worth it to become a barista lol.

"Leasing well" has to do largely with residual and money factor. Check Leasehackr forums and educate yourself. https://leasehackr.com/blog/2015/9/1...sing-a-new-car

Lexus, BMW, Mercedes tend to lease well. That's why you see so many 3 Series, they lease extremely well. Though some models within the brands will be better than others.

Audis lease poor, for example.

Others lease just Okay

Waiting for pricing to release. I sold my '18 M3 competition a few weeks ago since I got a great offer. Great car but a bit too hardcore for me as a daily driver. I'm now shopping between the IS500 and Audi S4. Leaning towards the Lexus because V8.

I also just sold my Macan last week. with the crazy pandemic used prices, it only depreciated about $10k over 3 years and 22k miles. pricing for the IS500 will be released Sept. 10.

Well, my dealer called me today to see if I was still interested. Pricing is not available yet but they were told they will get only 1(one) IS500 allotted to them and luckily for me, I am #1 on the list

You going to get it regardless of trim/color combo? I'm working with two dealers right now; one knows what they will get, the other is clueless. The clueless one was the one that took my deposit too..

I am #1 too and they told me they're only getting 2. I figured they meant only 2 of the launch edition which to me makes more sense, since there's 243 Lexus dealerships in the US. ~2 per dealer = 500. Don't you think so too?

With the deposit you can keep passing on trim/colors until they get the one you like. So even if they're clueless as long as they honor your place in line it should be fine. Which 2 dealers are you working with? You can PM me if you prefer.

Not necessarily. Thinking back to how the A90 Supra was put out - LE and regular models hit showrooms at the same time. And unfortunately, dealers didn't have the chance to pick what colors and options they wanted initially. Toyota just gave them allocations and the dealers had to wait to see what builds (LE or not) appeared in their system.

the smaller dealerships may get 1 or 2 IS500's and not necessarily the LE. I was told the LE will likely go to the larger dealers.
