I was hoping to either swap out the Enkei wheels for the BBS's, plus pay extra $$$ for that option (within reason), or in the worst case, see how much they cost off the shelf and maybe purchase them separately but looks like that won't be possible. anyone have any info on this?
I am actually hoping to swap the Enkei wheels for the regular IS350 wheels that I have on mine now - I will see if the person taking over my lease (a friend) would like the Enkei wheels, if not, I'll just order a new set and swap the wheels and see if someone would then buy them or just give them away. I hate clutter so I will not wanna store a set of wheels I'll never use. I'll cross that bridge when I get there I guess but I'll make sure to keep my VIN number or order them before the transition of ownership takes place

sw2oboy - that would actually be a GREAT news for me to be honest - I am hoping to not get my 500 too soon as the person taking over my lease wants it in the March timeframe and I don't want to have my new car delivered/driven in the winter....So having a delay in production would be fantastic for me. I have asked my dealer to investigate if my allocated vehicle could be produced with a later run to try and not get it too soon and he was going to check if there is one production window (early fall) or if there will be a couple and could be placed with the one that will be the latest as possible. Time will tell.....

I might try to do the same thing. I have the regular IS350 and I really like the dark metallic wheels on it. Those Enkei wheels on the IS500 look too busy and not fond of the silver look.

I know what youre saying but I haven't heard of this happening. That's a pretty bad issue for a $50000 car.

I just saw the thread in Car Chat about how drastically this will affect Toyota production. You're right that it's hard to predict exactly how this impacts the IS 500 though.

Could be a difficult car to get the first year or two.

it obviously didnt leave japan that way, but i think possibly on the way here or after sitting out in the sun it happens to some.
its their first run, no car manufacturer is perfect, but we both know Lexus will correct and make it right.

i know chip shortage hit north america hard all around will be two years or so to catch up, but didnt hit lexus too hard. With factories shutting down overseas, its now hurting even more. I sold my the m340 and is350 now driving around in a dam bucket. Was holding out for the is5 or lc. From what I was told a good batch of cars wont make it. There is to tbd atm till the factories open back up. IS5 isnt even in production yet so dono if its affected, but i hope once pricing and such is fully released and productions begins again, they put prioritize the is5 and nx (the new models)

I'll probably go with Cloudburst grey with black interior. Basically what I have right now with the 350. My wife says it will look exactly the same as what I have now, so why bother . She says just change the badge on rear to say IS500 instead of IS350 and save yourself 20 grand. LOL. I told her : it doesn't work that way . LOL.

I'm not a fan of Roman, but I do like Nathan. I met them both ironically almost 5 years ago in New Orleans at the 2015 RC F Short Lead Press event. Time flies!

Just be patient, you will see sets of these for sale as people start modifying their cars.
