^^ Things always look different/better in person - I am hoping I will feel the same way although I am pretty darn impressed with the 350 wheels, especially here in Canada because the finish is a painted gun metal color rather than the shiny chrome finish. On the delivery timeline, it makes sense that the regular 500 would come out later as it would make the Launch Edition seem a bit irrelevant the more I think about it - fall of 2021 is the LE, with the regular 500 to start from Jan onward...maybe its wishful thinking (lol)

Another quick video I saw comparing the 350 and the 500. As enthusiasts, we all know the differences but any chance to see new videos of the 500 is great

Anybody planning on ceramic coating their car when these start to arrive?

I've done my ES with CQuartz and the RX with Adam's Ceramic. I like them both, but Adam's went on trim too and keep black trim looking brand new. I think I may try a new ceramic. Torn between the Adam's Graphene and doing a lot more work with 3 coatings: Gtechniq Crystal Syrum Light + exo v4 + beadmaker.

Probanly end up going to lazy way with graphene and a topper every few washes but the other combo looks killer.

Don't really know the brands, but I will prob do a full front PPF and then ceramic coat the whole car.

I've actually never done any sort of PPF or ceramic coating for any of my previous cars. what would be a good ballpark estimate to do exactly what you plan on doing?

Probably around 2.5K at a reputable shop. Definitely getting ceramic tint as well, so looking at 3K... Can definitely get for cheaper though!

I just pulled the trigger on my cross shopped Camry hybrid for a daily. Had to preorder it similar to the IS5. Same situation with cars being spoken for before they hit the lot. Was just looking at the ceramic tinting by 3M. Apparently there are two tiers with that brand. The Camry will act as a test bed for the IS5 haha! Looking at wheel options too…

3M tint is good, but it's expensive and not very durable in the long run. If you're looking for a good nano ceramic film, look at XPEL Prime XR Plus. I've had many tint brands on my previous Lexus (SolarGard, 3M Crystalline, 3M Color Stable, Llumar CTX, Huper Optik, Johnson's) Check out the video reviews on YouTube.

Truly appreciate your valuable input! I'm looking for semi dark, not complete dark out. Of the youtubes I've seen, night vision will be equally valued. Yes, the "long run" is important as this will sit eternally outside until the end of its life (with me) ~15+ years I figure.

It seems most dealers in my area are asking for $2-3k deposits. These are refundable though if I decide to change my mind and not make the purchase.

With the way the car market is looking I'm actually leaning towards putting a refundable deposit down. I'm in no hurry to get the car but also don't want to wait until next Spring before I can have one in my garage.

I was also just told by a dealership that every single IS 500 across the nation will be sold at MSRP only. Anyone else hear this?

of the 3 dealers I'm on the waiting list, 2 of them said they will likely mark up the LE and 1 of these dealers said they would also mark up the regular version, too. but this is for Socal/Los Angeles area so maybe dealers in different states will vary?

I was told directly from Magnussen Lexus in Fremont CA they would be marking up the standard IS500. Toyota across the street, one of the largest dealers also has markup. I'm guessing the dealer adjustment depends on the franchise and by how much each one values repeat customers.

I hope dealers that try and markup these cars will get karma and customers will snub them! The arrogance of some dealers is sickening...

Yeah I would never give business to a dealer that marks up a car. I guess I should feel good with all dealers around me saying it will be sold at MSRP only.
