IMHO - will wait to see the official build sheets..

None are in the system YET.

But it's sounding like the $1,100 moonroof comes built in with the Premium and Launch Edition packages.

But back in the day if an IS F was built with out a moonroof, you didn't get a break on the price.

You got an IS F

WTF - you can't make this stuff up.. Oh wait you can..

It is indeed an external trans cooler and mounted exactly where it is on the IS F..

For the sake of production I sure hope they come finished correctly in Black..

Maybe a dumb question - when you're in Sport/Sport+ mode, and you turn off the car and turn the car on again, does it stay in Sport/Sport+ or does it always go to Normal upon startup? A common theme of these videos is that Normal mode on the 500 is not good and it should be left in Sport. Thanks.

Most cars will start back up in Normal. I assume that'll be the case for the IS.

One reviewer made a very perceptive point, that the IS500 F-Sport is the second coming of the E90 M3 except much more reliable. When I heard it, something clicked inside my brain and I realized that's pretty accurate : NA V8, pure RWD, LSD, not a hardcore track car but sublime on the streets and canyon carving. The similarities are uncanny.

The implications are that the IS500 F-Sport is going to be a future classic and those sincere driving enthusiasts with the budget (and not the internet warriors ) should run, not walk to buy the IS500.

Great read, best line in the entire article: “There is an effortless authority about driving a Lexus V8, and it is well captured in the IS 500.”

I mostly feel this way about my current V6 color combo setup, but I think the iconic-ness I’m looking for will be truly realized with the 500 ownership. I think that’s why I’ve checked in with my sales rep the first of every month for the last 6 months, I want to ensure I’ll get one.

Let’s pretend the used market was normal. Is this a bad car to buy used/CPO? I would imagine the first owners pushed it hard and didn’t baby it, especially if they were planning to sell it soon after. Any long term damage to be concerned over?

So many 0-60 runs now, that's the first one that shows a little after 60 mph as well. It looks like it is still accelerating nicely to 90 mph.

I was dead set on Cloudburst Grey but Grecian Water/USB are changing my mind. It just looks so damn good in blue.

I find Cloudburst gray very drab. Grays are overdone now. They looked good back in the early 2000s. A car like this should look more fun.

Definitely would buy used/cpo. these depreciate really hard initially. Being pushed hard is subjective (these v8s are ridiculously reliable), but to me it crosses the line when the car has been modified/tracked. Excessive brakes and tire wear is a good indication for me to pass.
