if we were to assume the market was normal, not necessarily. some will buy it simply bc it's the 'most expensive, top of the line IS' and will use it to drive around town and barely put any miles on it.

[QUOTE=Joe Z;11124459]
For the sake of production I sure hope they come finished correctly in Black..
@lobuxracer

Otherwise someone F'd up ... Again!! /QUOTE]

My thought exactly - why couldn't this be black and less noticeable?!? Surely we are not the only noticing it

SMH - not sure how these reviewers are making this **** up???

The Smoking Tire, is claiming NO - ASC electrical engine motor sounds from the speakers, but it's actually a mechanical tube coming into the firewall like the other Lexus V8's..??

Lexus' PR didn't do a good job at all giving the specs sheets to "car reviewers" to give out factual information..

Such a wasted oppurtunity to get out the right information to consumers..

Joe, I've definitely noticed some errors in these reviews.

I know there's mixed feelings about SavageGeese, but Mark and Jack don't get stuff wrong. Mark even mentions at the end of the review where an oil cooler could be mounted if someone wants to go that route.

^^ I am not an expert on this but my understanding is that with the 2021+ MY, the noise on the ASC is artificially pumped through a speaker unlike before 2021 where the ASC didn't exist and was true induction noise. I know Alex on Auto did a video on the sound of the IS but that was on a pre-2021 MY which was different. I owned a 2015 and 2017 IS and the noise was all induction with no ASC switch but on my 2019 RC, that was fake noise and so is the 2021. I suspect the 2022 IS500 will be enhanced sound too no?! I stand to be corrected, I thought my 2017 didn't have the ASC but I looked back and 2017 was the year they added this feature in the IS, which is weird because I do NOT recall that switch at all and I am OCD about knowing every switches and features on my vehicles. That being said, the 2016 IS and earlier gens didn't have this and the video that Alex Auto explains is the 2015 MY which didn't have the ASC and had the pure induction noise - That is how my 2015 IS was. Unless I am again mistaking (lol)

I also agree, chances are it will be light colored, we just won the battle with teh dark chrome around the window but someone oversaw this detail?!? Is there something than can done aftermarket or something?

Both my 2020 and 2021 sound like this 6 year old video.

I just realized there isn't a Heads Up Display listed anywhere on the options... does anyone know if the car has one??? I am super bummed, I haven't driven without one in nearly 10 years.

I'd be a bit cautious about one of these popping up used within the first year or two. No, it's not impossible... but... I don't see someone going through the potential trouble to buy one of these very rare cars (parts and chip shortages might make the '22 IS500 harder to acquire than we realize) just to get rid of it asap.

Still, don't put all your eggs in one basket hoping a used IS500 bargain is around the corner. Even considering if the market was "normal", I don't see these cars dropping in value much in the coming years. Really think about it: It'll probably be the last N/A V8 sport luxury sedan. Hell, the ISF (yes, I know it's a different level of vehicle) still managed to hold ridiculous resale values. And it was doing so long before the pandemic price hikes we're seeing these days.

I agree with what you said - the only thing I could see happen is one bought one and then decided he can't afford it or was not his cup of tea. My 2021 IS with 2500 km (yes, about 1200 miles) will be handed over to someone after less than a year in pristine condition so I can get this IS500. So while I don't have any plans on dumping the 500 within a year, I probably will not keep it for more than 4-5 years at about 5 000km per year in strictly dry and pristine weather conditions. I already have someone in mind that I would like to sell it to when that times comes and that person will get one hell of a car in exceptional condition

Wow, that's a lucky individual. Wish I knew someone who'd keep me in mind like that. lol.
But yeah... I see used 2021 IS350s with low mileage online all the time. Sometimes people get bored, or maybe the car didn't turn out to be exactly what they hoped, or their financial situation changed, etc. As I mentioned before, short term IS500 ownership won't be impossible... but I still think the resales value not dropping much might be a hurdle for those hoping for a deal.

Memory buttons?! Don't know why none of the reviewers seem to have it, but hopefully the final production Premium version will have it!

I hope so too. This feature is very important to me. Shame it isn’t standard this price point.
