^^ That is counter intuitive though, why call something a launch edition if it comes after the regular model?! You would have thought they'd get them out first since they are all a single optioned vehicle and would be easier to roll off the assembly rather than dealing with various colors and packages, but then again, I have no clue about the car industry (lol)
I am not disputing your information, I am just saying that it didn't sound intuitive to me (lol)

no clue. Nothing makes sense these days. For me it’s moot. The LE should be $1000 more than the premium for the BBS wheels. Everything else is trivial, a non-expense. $6000 extra for gray paint and cloth seats is hilarious.
If I recall that’s exactly what happened with the Jeep Gladiator. They had a special edition first model but it ended up being delayed so other owners got their cars before the people who paid the premium for the first editions. Naturally they were pissed.
Here is my follow up on Accessory Options / PIO - Port Installed Options.
If you special order, some of these can be added (maybe) but I can see most IS 500 will have the Z1 or Z2 Accesory pkgs built into the Window stickers.. They will vary per 4 USA area regions.. North, South, East, West
Things that caught my attention are the CF mirror covers and CF Wing..
I do believe the CF wing is the same exact one found on the IS 350 F SPORT w/ DHP package..
Too bad they didn't make these CF bits standard on the IS 500.
So once again keep in mind these codes are for the entire 2022 IS Line up.. (not IS 500 specific only)
I put this together on an excel file for all to know the codes

If this is the case, I will be royally pissed. Part of the reason I'm paying the extra 6K for the Launch Edition is to get it faster.
I was told it should be out around November. But coming from a car salesman, yeah... not going to much stock in that.
It says V6 right next to it so don't get your hopes up lol
I would totally spend the $1700 to get a factory performance exhaust, maybe with active valves. I loved it on my C7, fairly quiet in tour mode but rowdy in track mode.

FYI - this information below is pretty spot on

I totally agree and I'm hearing conflicting info depending on the dealer. at this point nothing is certain. I'm just hopeful I can get into a regular version (basic or premium) by January of 2022. one dealer even told me that within a couple of weeks, they will have info on their first allocation but I'm not holding my breath! lol
Lexus dropped the ball on the IS500 Limited Edition. While the color is nice, Lexus made no effort to modify the performance of the car. I’m also confused with their choice of the black BBS wheels on the limited edition. Aren’t those wheels supposed to be heavier than the Enkei wheels? Why put them on the IS500 Limited Edition and charge a premium?
The IS500 Limited Edition would be more appealing with 500 horsepower/400 torque, launch control, and 0-60 in 4 seconds flat. I also agree that the Limited Edition should have been on the road already.
