Thats $10k more than a stripped down IS 350 F Sport Package w/ DHP ($49k)

Add in some more options like Tripple Beam, Moonroof, Nav/ML etc..

Likley looking at an approx $65.5k sticker... Not bad for the F Sport Performance V8

Remember a well equipped IS 350 F Sport with DHP comes in at $55.5k

There is a premium cost to using the V8 engine, trans, driveline + the new hood, fenders & bumpers.

Just my opinion... I do not work for Lexus or have any insider knowledge at all....

However, if the 350 comes it at $55K and the RCF is $66K...having the IS500 at $65K isn't gonna make much sense...for $1K or less you could be in a legit F car, and not just an F Performance car...just the Brembo brakes alone is worth more than $1K.
That's why I'm thinking the IS500 will land about the middle at $60K, likely with no option package.
I realize that's comparing a sedan to a coupe, but it's not like the IS has this tremendous rear seat for hauling people around comfortably.
I'm over here like "oh good point, what he said" and then "oh yeah no, what he said".

I vote 59k

Gotta wonder why they're taking so long to release the price.

I figure marketing technique.

Build the hype, let the discussions revolve around the product itself and not its price tag. Although large discussion IS the price tag and lack of.

I agree with this. I expect it to be around 60K. Much higher and it will be overpriced for the market an a slow seller.

For the newly announced 500 units in one color "Incognito" , I will definitely put these in the $65-$70K category:

https://pressroom.lexus.com/2022-lex...f-distinction/

2022 LEXUS IS 500 F SPORT PERFORMANCE LAUNCH EDITION

Not sure they worked out the length of the name yet... Making it an IS F would have solved all that..!!

For the purposes of the poll and thread we're still looking at the base IS500, but I agree with the Launch Edition limited production they will have to raise the sticker price to RCF levels.
Although, if it's just color, wood trim, and a number badge, I can't really justify the exclusivity of owning one...there literally better be someone completely unique to the model.

The only thing I hope is that they carry the Incognito color over to the other models too, after the Launch Edition comes out. I don't care for the suede or limited number, just the color and V8. I am seriously thinking of wrapping our 350 F Sport this color just to save some money.

Don't Forget the MY21 IS 350 F Sport Performance DHP optional package - 19" BBS Wheels do come at a Premium Price & additional weight savings..

These do actually look way better than the Enkei design.

RC F pricing isn't even a thought. The RC F and IS500 will not be cross shopped my many, if any. You won't buy a two door 2+2 if you want/need a four door sedan. Back seats in the IS aren't roomy by any stretch, but they're WAY roomier than any RC. I'm betting these will be low 60's USD mostly because the drivetrain incremental cost is pretty significant, and these aren't going to be sold in a bare bones config - you'll likely need to order one if you don't want premium sound and a sunroof. There sure seems to be a lot of optimism though. A Launch Edition with 500 units is no small commitment. IIRC, the Nieman Marcus IS F was only 100 units. The hard part about that is, I don't see the NM units pulling a premium on the used market. Given the nightmares Toyota suffered with the initial run of the MkV Supra, their launch edition would scare me unless it had been reworked by someone I trust. Thankfully, this is a genuine made in Japan Lexus so we don't have to be worried about some crazy Austrians on the assembly line.

Yes, it will be interesting to see what we find with the New Car Features on this one. I am pretty confident there will not be a whole lot of anything "extra" or more track oriented than the current IS350 F Sport besides the driveline.

Lightbulb Pricing Confirmed

Since we have a specific price thread...

The BASE stripped down IS 500 will ring in at $56,500

Chances of finding one of those ordered, built and on a lot will
be 0.001%

Lets talk about the window sticker most will see, including the Delivery, Processing & Handling fee of $1,075

I left out accessory prices for items like mats, wheels locks or other PIO items..

2022 IS 500 Window Sticker Prices

Base = $57,575

Premium = $62,075 (the package the dealers will order and sell)

Launch Edition = $68,475 (500 units only)

2022 LEXUS IS 500: A NEW BREED OF F SPORT PERFORMANCE

"The 2022 IS 500 will have a starting MSRP of $56,500, making it highly competitive within the mid-performance segment. The starting price of the of the IS 500 Premium is $61,000, offering customers the same high-output powertrain, with the addition of convenience features like Mark Levinson 17-speaker Premium Surround Sound Audio System, navigation system, panoramic view monitor, triple beam LED headlights and power rear sunshade. The IS 500 Launch Edition will be limited to just 500 units in North America and will have an MSRP of $67,400. The new 2022 IS 500 is expected to arrive in dealerships later this fall."

Thanks for updating the thread @Joe Z
As noted by Joe Z's pricing the base will start at $56,500USD.

As the poll sits currently with 97 voters, 15.46% selected a base price of $54K-$56,999.
Congrats on nailing it as a combined 56.67% of us thought the price would be a little higher...with 28.87% pricing it at $57k-$59,999 and 26.80% pricing it at $60k-$62,999.

As Joe Z noted, the base is likely not the one that will be bought, and most will opt for the Premium package, but if the base is all you're looking for, then the price could be right for you.
Considering these days that a base Lexus will come with all the amenities, how much more can the Premium package offer that you really need...not want, but neeeeeed.

Lightbulb Added cost of Moonroof

Adjusting my numbers for the $1,100 Power Tilt and Slide Moonroof - which will likely be built into all..

But may be included for FREE in the Premium Package or LE..

Sounds like one could be ordered without one but won't change the price..??

But I doubt any Special Orders will be allowed or approved.

Everthing adds up for TRUE price point perspective

Without seeing these prices I voted 57-59, like most did. Ah I dunno. 57-69k... The IS500 is nice, but it's really for the Lexus enthusiast (and nothing wrong with that). The body (aside from exterior panels) and chassis is still a 2012/2013 design and I don't really see this car being cross-shopped vs. M340i, C43, S4 etc. Would be a nice car at a 10k discount I think.

Some notable figure comparisons C&D to compare performance per dollar:

Price (USD) Base
IS500 $57,575
M340i $54,995

Top Speed
IS500 149 MPH
M340i 156 MPH

Power HP/TQ
IS500 472/395
M340i 382/369

Curb Weight
IS500 3,969 lbs
M340i 3,827 lbs

1/4 Mile
IS500 12.8
M340i 12.4

0-130MPH
IS500 17.5s
M340i 16.1s

70-0MPH
IS500 159 ft.
M340i 155 ft.

Skidpad
IS500 89 mph
M340i 93 mph

MPG AVG
IS500 25
M340i 30

Back in 2015 I didnt see a single Base IS350 on the lot. I would imagine the IS500 will be the same way.
