That's awesome Tony!!!
Never test drove a 500 before pulling the trigger! That's all wthrman2's fault!! lol!
My local dealer had an already sold LE so I was able to see it in person which helped a lot, cause I wasn't sure about the color at first... But when wthrman2 told me he wasn't getting that one and that he had my name put on it, couldn't resist! lol!!
On a side note, my 10 yo daughter cried a lil bit when my white 350 left on the truck.. She preferred the white, but that will all sort itself out when we go for a drive I'm sure!!

Picked him up at Eskridge Lexus in OKC yesterday! The guy who ordered the car test drove it on Wednesday, loved it, and said he needed to ‘think about it’ afterwards. Around this time, the sales rep’s info was posted by @zman21 . Saw it, called and left a message. Shannon called back, processed my deposit on Thursday, and I flew in on Friday.
1. He was saying goodbye to the guy who ordered the car at the time I called.
2. The guy called back on Friday to pull the trigger, but it was already sold….to me. 😎 He apparently didn’t have money put down, so I guess that made it free game? 🤷🏽♂️

Without this forum I wouldn’t have my car either. The Lord willed that we saw those posts when we did! LOL. My salesman said he got a 3 other people who called in 10 min after I put my name and cc number on it.

Answer - So I am the cause for your purchase and you are the cause for mine (LMAO) - I guess we cancel each other eh?!? I don't have any kids and the GF won't even come close to mine, she says I freak her too much with my OCD. I am sure I'll be upset to see my 2021 go but the offer was too good to resist and honestly, I am surprised by how much I love the red after seeing it in person.
The paperwork will get underway this week and then the shipping will occur but I suspect it will be a couple of weeks at least before it gets here but I don't mind as it would be sitting in the garage for a while longer until the snow melt is done. Can't wait though

This forum is everything, I love you folks so freaking much. I knew a lot about the IS 500 before subscribing to this subject, but you guys taught me so much more. Honestly, thought my *** was bougie, but compared to some….I have room to grow. ::evil laugh::
Incidentally, the dude next to me on the plane flew in to help kids separated from their incarcerated parents. Goes through this whole thing then asks why I was visiting OKC. I was like, not for something as noble as you! Had to get his card to make a donation to his organization, figured it was God telling me something.
“I helped you to do this, now you have to do something for others.” 😎

Launch Edition #421 checking in
Hey everyone, I joined the forum because I just purchased the IS 500 Launch Edition #421. I got it from Lexus of North Miami and was able to haggle them down to MSRP (plus a solid deal on my 2017 C63S I traded for it). At this point, I already have close to 1000 miles on it (drove it home from Miami).
Stepping into the car from a more aggressive AMG, this car is an absolute joy. It is certainly softer and doesn't have the torque of the Biturbo V8, but it has a screamer of an engine with very linear power delivery. I don't have to worry about the tail end stepping out on me if I want to hustle it around a corner. And it absolutely glides at 100mph on the highway. I got this car for its comfort, its reliability, its looks (love the incognito gray), and of course the V8. The AMG was too angry, too stiff, and too expensive to keep running. I couldn't be happier with my decision, and look forward to many years of reliable fun with the IS 500. I will be getting it XPEL PPF'd and re-tinted to protect it.
I did have the seemingly common exhaust flange "check engine light" issue come up at about 800 miles. I took it to the dealer, and they explained that it was an issue in how they assembled the exhaust at the factory. It was leaking exhaust gasses at the connection from the headers to the mid pipe and messing with the O2 sensor. A quick gasket exchange and a couple of hours in the waiting area has it running clean and quick.
I think one day I'll get an aftermarket exhaust for it, but only the GTHaus seems to be available, and is very costly. Any others on the horizon?
