I am sorry to hear about your accident but surprised that it was that damaged at 25 mph....But the most important is you are well and back into a new to you IS 500

It was about 1 month. I was willing to ship one across the country if I had to. Very thankful to find one within an hour from me. I’ve driven some cool cars, and I absolutely love this car as a daily, even more so after the RSR down springs. Just passed up both of my M3 allocations. Still in line for 2 x M2 allocations that may replace my track Mustang. Cross shopping GT4’s as well. We’ll see.

Thank you. Yeah, super happy.
I was surprised as well. It was a tree about 4” in width, Direct center hit. No airbags went off, no fluids leaked, and it drove just fine. If it was a larger width area I think it would’ve been repairable.

25 miles per hour is about 36.5 feet per second. Then combined with an impact against an object that maybe didn’t move (a tree) and you have a negative acceleration from 36.5 fps to 0 fps in about 300 hundredths of a second.

Yeah, things are gonna bend and break.

^^ I am not surprised about the damage occurring, more about the fact the car would be written off at 25 mph but I try to avoid any collision in the first place

The garage is now fully stocked. It was a long but a very fun day.

I'm an IS 500 owner now! I am still so excited even a day later. I didn't know how much I was going to love this thing, in spite of having driven one before, until I got to actually drive it home.

It's an Infrared Premium with, as far as I know, all the options. BBS wheels included. Black interior.

In this first photo, I waved goodbye to the IS 350 as we transferred my things from it to the new car.

It was raining cats and dogs yesterday, so I didn't have an oppotunity to take nice photos, really. So enjoy photos of me setting up Homelink and a random close-up of the triple beams, I guess.

Yep did the garage door programming too yesterday. I stayed up late last night adjusting all the settings to where I like them like I had them on my 2018 IS 350. Some new silly features like Rear Seat Alert were telling me to check the back seat so I had to go and make everything right. Then I slept hard as I did not sleep much the night before picking up the car.

Default Just picked up my 2023

I’ve been stalking this car for months, had one bought out from under me a few months ago and had pretty much given up. I even put a deposit down on a 1794 Edition Tundra. But I was looking at car dealer inventory, as you do, and they had two IS 500’s which was strange, they never have them on their website. So I called and not only were they not reserved, they were supposed to hit the lot within the week! I couldn’t believe my luck so this time I didn’t mess around and just pulled the trigger. They were both white and had all the same options except mine has a red interior. I’m still in that surreal state where it hasn’t fully hit me yet.

Pictures aren’t great, I didn’t think to take any during the process and only got some in my garage.

Congratulations! So we need pictures of the red interior or it didn't happen.

Very happy for you. You're gonna love it. Funny thing. I almost given up also and was about to buy a Tundra!
