Hello! Just joined the forum. I travelled almost 900 miles round trip to pick up my 2023 IS500 in Molten Pearl over the weekend
Congrats!! Did you test drive one beforehand? Or was this a sight unseen purchase?

Right! It’s the best way to get it broken in. The different speed variations will get the components well seated. I couldn’t imagine the torture of tooling around town for 621 moderate miles. 😈😜

I had not test driven one, but I had checked one out at a local dealership. I did test drive this car before actually signing the dotted line though.
Probably not the best break-in, but I tried to vary the speed as much as possible and change gears often on the way home. I also got off and on the highway a bunch of times, but I may continue the break-in babying for a bit beyond the recommended 621 miles. It is always tough breaking in a new performance car though, haha!
It’s been raining almost everyday since I took delivery of my 2023 IS500 FSport Premuim WH/BLK. I’ve had it for 3 weeks now but it’s been garaged since delivery as I could only get an appointment for PPF 4 week out. It’s been an agonizing wait. Here’s a few pics while she was still at the dealership.

That's exactly what I'm doing as we speak. It's brutal. I'm at 365 km (227 miles), so still a way's to go. People are passing me with this "WTF are you doing driving like an old lady look"
Have yet to see another on the road, but now that I have mine, I expect to.

I mean, where I live, people assume "Lexus = septuagenarian" anyway. It's pretty satisfying to surprise the derpy pickup truck drivers who try to go around me only to get dusted when the light turns green again.
Point being, even with the Infrared, people will assume you are grandpa. I'll be the first to admit that if I see a 2021+ IS on the road, 9/10 times it's an older-looking person driving. I kinda like that if I am honest.
