New Member here. I actually used to come to CL forum as a guest but decided to make an account now cause why not. I recently picked up a 2023 IS500 F Sport Performance. I originally came from a 2022 Lexus IS350 F Sport (Non Handling Package). It was an okay car. I preferred my 2020 IS350 more as I was used to the stiffer ride and handling. I traded my 22 IS350 for my IS500 and I couldn’t be more happier. Its color is Atomic Silver with Circuit Red interior.

Congrats and welcome!! Have you driven the 500 beforehand? Like with the Lexus performance driving school? What are your impressions compared to the 2020 since you liked it better?

@TipsyTonio has a 2021 IS 350 and has played with the idea of upgrading. 😎

Thanks, I've never done the Lexus Performance driving school. However, I do some track events with the GR Movement out here in So Cal. Personally, comparing 350 to 350, the 2020 just felt more controlled compared to my 2022. It rode more tighter and I never had to second guess myself when attacking corners. It was probably also because the 2020 had the "handling package" that is now not standard for the newer IS350, which mine lacked. However, the IS500 does remind me of 2020 IS350 despite the fact I still have it. It feels very similar but with just more of a punch.

Default New IS500 Owner

Today, I picked up my brand new '23 IS500. V

When looking for my next car, I had a few key wants: reliability, fun and preferably a nice sounding engine.

I made a post on r/whatcarshould I buy and eventually stumbled upon someone recommending the IS500. I was always a huge fan of LC/LX reliability and over engineering so it was an easy sell. Some quick googling, about a month of deliberating and trying to hunt one down, and here we are!

Looking forward to interacting with you all and and stalking of these forums for validation of my decision!

The details:
- '23 IS500 (Performance Premium)
- Iridium/Black
- Optioned the BBS Wheels, All-weather floor liners, door edge-guards & trunk mat.

Drove it nearly 200 miles home, rotating between eco, sport+ and normal modes. Unfortunately, may have broken a couple of the "break in" rules, as I did some hard accelerating a handful of times, and also kept it at about 68-73 on cruise control for 10-15 minutes at a time. Not too worried though, never red lined it and varied speed enough (I hope) 😁

Congrats on the IS500, I had Iridium on my last IS350. Amazing color. I know its very tempting to just floor it lol. I've been leaving mine in eco to prevent me from flooring it until break in is done.

Whether it’s based in fact or delusion, you’ll find plenty of validation in these parts! Myself, a chief amongst them… 😂😈

Congrats, you will love this thing!

Default Finally !!!

Guys— finally landed my IS 500! Started in February with an extreme crush on a Molten Pearl and over a few months I had the chance to buy a few, but, the circumstances were never right. All the new ones got sold by early May and I wasn’t wanting to pay a premium for the used ones. So, I found a Launch Edition with only 3800 mi. at a great price; very happy with how it turned out!

So far, ceramic coating and 15% side/back tints. Next is 35% windshield tint and muffler deletes. Considering Swift springs & spacers and the Seibon spoiler next.

Launch Edition #107 was sold new in Winnipeg in March 2022 and imported to a Ford dealer in Michigan in April. I found it just in time!

w/ ceramic and tints; love how it looks even after a heavy rain.

w/ ceramic but pre-tint

and of course, my 4yo. thinks the picture is about her so she was cheesing lol!!

No sunroof Canadian spec FTW!!

Wondering how many of the 50 Canadian LE's are actually still in Canada. Seen at least 4-5 in the US and one overseas.

100% I never use my sunroof when I have one. And also OK without the rear sunshade. Now if I could just get assurance that the Celsius can be changed to Fahrenheit…

I know it can be changed to miles and MPG, but haven't seen any options for the temperature. Maybe the dealers can switch it to Fahrenheit.
