Welcome & Congrats!! Atomic Silver is an awesome color, it’s one of the best colors that’ll work well with the matte BBS, because it’s lux. The perfect combo of lux and sport in my opinion. Well done.

Winter tires absolutely mandatory on this car if you're in the North and intend on regularly driving the car during winter season (or at least equip with very high quality all-seasons). I was out the other day when it was around -5 C (23F) and the bridgestones had already turned into 4 hockey pucks, and that's not even very cold yet. Pavement was dry, but still, I was hesitant to push the car even a little. Drove like a granny (which defeats the purpose of owning a car like this, lol). Can't imagine how bad it would be with wet, icy, snow covered roads. Disaster.

You're getting your wish today. How is it performing? With those tires it should be brilliant.

I read this and said: “Oh no no no…” on several points.

1. 23F to this Southerner is damn near arctic! So it’s hilarious to see it referenced as ‘not even very cold’. 😂😂

2. The summers as hockey pucks. Egads.

Yes…take it easy out there!

Funny how it's all relative. It was around -2 C today and I decided that it was a "good warm enough day" to take down all the Christmas lights before we get into the deep freeze later in January. LOL.

Being from Chicago and experiencing -20F or close enough multiple times in my life prior to leaving Chicago I generally laugh at the people here who break out a turtleneck sweater when temps plunge into the 60's!

I don't miss Chicago winters and rarely go to Chicago in the middle of the winter. They can keep it!

I spent a few winters out in Kansas City with my 2016 IS 300 AWD, and there were quite a few single-digit days with lots of snow... I didn't dare drive when it was like that outside of emergencies, but it was manageable, even on all-season tires. Granted, the OE Bridgestone all-seasons were garbage. I swapped onto some BFGoodrich G-Force Comp-2 A/S's, which were much better in the snow.

I am near Detroit but Jan-Feb sucks here. When I had my STI I was running Pirelli Winter Sottozero & the awd never got stuck.

^^ It gets worse especially near the Detroit River (Windsor Ontario).

I considered yesterday rain lol. We should see solid snow next weekend from what I've read. Actually pretty excited to see how these tires perform but I'm sure the allure will fade very quickly.
