In spite of having a car I use for track events, I find myself thinking I should throw some track pads, Motul, and better rubber on this thing and take it out to VIR.
That would be epic! VIR is one of my favorite tracks in the US (along with Road Atlanta). Savagegeese mentioned in his review, the RC-F's oil cooler could possibly be used as a direct bolt on as well. I'm sure you'd be fine for a few hot laps, but if you're looking to spend the day there it may be a bit too much to handle.
@Orkboyz Also, what car do you use for track days?
2017 Z06. I tend to hang around in the intermediate solo groups, so I've done nothing much to the Z06 except track pads and flushing/bleeding the brake fluid (motul) before each event. I had the dreaded C7 Z06 overheating issue. Turned out that the air was not completely bled out of the supercharger at the factory. Bled out nearly a liter of air, replaced it with coolant and no more overheating. Oh, and the rear diff was a half quart low on gear oil. Quality GM workmanship, doncha know.

The 2017s got cooling upgrades, they're the ones people seek! Late 2019s also got some of the ZR1 goodies, but nothing drastic if I recall correctly.

That's quite a machine! You are living the dream my friend. Hoping to one day have a dedicated track car as a third vehicle. The Miata was nowhere near as quick as a C7, but I could drive it 10 / 10ths without fearing for my life. It was also really cheap to run. Someday! In the meantime I'll be getting in my dose of fun just hooning around in the IS500 (as long as the baby's not sitting in her car seat in the back, haha)!

Momentum cars like the miata are great fun to drive. I have to admit that I often rely on sheer power coming out of a corner rather than trying to maintain as much speed as possible through the turn. That's something I need to work on.
Hey all! Just picked up a cloudburst grey 2022 with red interior earlier today! Back in late 2015 I missed out on getting an IS-F and have regretted it ever since. Better late then never, as they say. My car does have the bumper separation thing going on pretty badly, so I just ordered that fix, and will be ordering Swift springs asap, and then an exhaust (probably the Tanabe).
Howdy folks, just got my hands on a new 2024 Incognito exterior with black interior IS 500 Performance Premium.
Options: 19 in BBS Matte black forged wheels (not really an option I guess with the trim level), all-weather floor mats and trunk liner, wheel locks, illuminated door sills (useless and waste of $425). Very happy thus far!

Congratulations, man. You're gonna want those illuminated door sills!

Congrats! And welcome to the dark side!
Those illuminated door sills are something I'm mixed on. I have them on my IS 500, but I wasn't exactly looking for them. On most cars, I don't particularly care if the car comes with them. If I was spec-ing my car out from the factory, I probably would skip them, but... at the same, $425 is a drop in the bucket at these prices, lol!
Missed out barely on a Molten Pearl car, but found this Caviar and Circuit Red IS500 premium in Augusta with only 2,100 miles on it. Literally owned by a 70 year old lady who traded it in on a Lincoln crossover as this had too much power. Came with the windows tinted, but only one key unfortunately. Door sills still had the plastic covering on them and is absolutely perfect except for one little spot where she scratched the leather wheel that I've still got to try and resolve.
This will be a great replacement for my 2004 LS430 UL that was my previous daily driver. Combined with our other two cars this makes for 1,500 hp in our driveway which is a lot of fun. First mods are already on the way, but won't be able to get them on until after I get back from vacation.
