So it seems from this thread Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S is the best tire to go with. But if I did want an all season just to save a few dollars and have tires that last a bit longer. What is the difference between the 3+ and 4 for the pilot sport all seasons? Would it even matter between the two?
Michelin is releasing or has released the Pilot Sport 5.
I've been thinking about trying Continental tires, there are soooo many people who like them. I've been a Michelin guy for a long time now, but I'm getting curious.
I would want to see the new Michelin all seasons vs the Conti all seasons.

So would that be the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 vs the Continental Extreme Contact DWS06?
Now I'm intrigued as well. I run continentals on my Camry and they feel pretty good, but it's not a performance tire in the least.

Yeah, I think those are it. The DWS06 is liked by Tire Rack and some youtubers. I don't need max traction, I like a balance of comfort, quiet, and traction.
For me once my oem tires are worn out all I want is a summer performance tire that has good grip for a rwd vehicle.
Amen! Amen!
I should be right at 5k miles by the end of May, which is the planned oil change. I’ll have Lexus install the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S/5S’ at the same time. I went Summers on my 2016 IS 350 FSport last year and I’m never going back. They’re slightly louder than the Michelin A/S, but the smoothness is just as good. The grip from the line or a dig are freaking amazing, the Bridgestones are simply outclassed.
When the temps got down to 35 degrees, I just stayed home. Unless it’s highway miles, the Pilots will have a difficult time warming up. I was intrigued by the Contis, but they’re not as smooth on the road as the Michelins. That’s just my personal butt feel. 😎
Just curious I am at 4,500 miles & debating to sell the oem tires & getting a different summer tire set. My local Lexus dealer has in stock Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. What should I be asking for the OEM tires? Here is how much the OEM tires on the IS500 go for brand new:

I’m not a tire conneisur so I can’t imagine selling a basically new set just to buy a better set. Is the car too powerful and dangerous to drive with the OEM tires? Serious question. If not, just to save money I would use the Potenzas until the tread is low and maybe attempt to sell them then to someone who wants bald tires just to do donuts all day. Maybe even have some fun yourself before you take them off. Idk if that’s a thing though.
If you’re looking for handling improvements I’d add braces and or lower the car.

It’s likely you’ll lose money, but if a better handling car (for your needs) is what you want, I say do it. I plan to use eBay, local pickup only, and a starting bid of $200-$250 less than the brand new price.
Those OE Potenzas are rather overpriced. I would say there are better options for less money. They are decent tires, but I think they are not worth the money.

Agreed. I imagine that it'll be very difficult to sell these tires anywhere near the MSRP price because the MSRP price of them is higher than the PS4S which is objectively a better tire. If you're lucky, I'd say you could potentially expect $1000 for a full set with low mileage. But that might be pushing it because for that price you can get a whole new set of the Yokohama Adven Apex V601

Exactly…I’m expecting $600 for the full set. A little bit of money is better than giving them away for free.
