GW is eye catching for sure. Hardly a day goes by that someone doesn’t comment on the car. Gets more attention than my C7.

I haven't seen GW on an IS, but have seen it on an RX. Definitely a color to get. I was always sold on the USB, but GW is good too. I am just not a blue person. I have only ever owned one blue vehicle in my life. Most of the time I pick white or silver. I know, I am boring. But I would consider GW for sure.

^^ I am in the same boat and quite honestly, the GW has really grown on me too. I can't recall the name of the color but even the light blue (similar to GW) in the Cadillac CT-5 V Blackwing catches my eyes....

I get it. I’m a white or silver guy as well. My wife picked it out. I think she liked the caramel interior color and how it matched the exterior. I was looking at a white Acura TLX, LOL.

I would definitely try to check out the 2 colors in person if possible. Online photos don't really do much justice. I hated the Grecian when I first saw it on the Lexus website but was pretty surprised when I saw one at a dealer lot (fell in love and purchased the car same day). There's a lot of metal flake and shine to the color that doesn't show up well in photos.

I was fortunate to see both blues at my local dealership. They had Grecian Blue IS300 and USB2.0 IS350. Comparing them side by side it USB2.0 was the easy choice but then again this is personal preference. I'd say USB2.0 is a more universally appealing color.

here’s a comparison my USB vs a 21 in grecian water. ultrasonic blue is very deep and rich in color where grecian water has less metallic in it and is more toward a teal baby blue color. both colors are stunning though!

I got tired of Lexus limited paint choices, everything is pearl or metallic. No options for just solid/gloss paint.

so because Hondas, Toyotas, and other GM vehicles use the color black and white, they're played out? Am I understanding that correctly

You wanna talk overplayed! White, black or silver makes me look away.

^^ That is what the beauty of the world we live in, we can all pick our cars based on the colors we enjoy There are some colors that while I find look amazing, I just can't buy because of the labor of love required to make them look amazing and there are some I just don't find appeals to my eyes. I will admit, I am a boring white car kind of guy but assume it fully

I can understand that. Nothing wrong with having options. Gracian water has flake in it, but it only pops in direct sunlight. Otherwise it can look like gloss paint. While I'm not a fan or Grecian water, I can understand the appeal. Like once having the option of Redline on the IS. Shame it's not offered anymore.

Ha! Nah, that's not it. I get where he's coming from though. While black, white, silver, and gray are pretty typical colors, Nardo was a somewhat unique shade of gray. But sometimes it seems like its popularity has worked against it, and now it doesn't feel as unique/special as it once did. While almost every manufacturer offers some version of it, it's the aftermarket paint jobs that really helped kill it for me.

Example: I recently saw a picture of a C7 either on another forum or on Reddit. Anyway... The guy loved nardo gray so much that he repainted the car AND the wheels in it.

See, this is why I like Atomic Silver. Silver is everywhere, but the specific thing Lexus did with Atomic Silver is not.

Contrast that to Silver Lining Metallic or Iridium, which are more average silvers. However, I will say that Iridium has a lot more metallic flake in it than most other silvers.
