arentz - I agree, Atomic Silver is a GORGOUS color for the Lexus products but for some reason, and I never saw one on the IS 500, that is the one color I am not sure would fit the 500 well because of the wheels. I find it looks great on the 300/350 but I could be totally wrong on the 500....i just can't picture it well.

I did see an Iridium and you are correct, it certainly has more metallic flake than a regular silver car (like my Elantra for example) - I am also happy to see that your case, the flakes are on the outside of the car, right (lol)

I like the way GW looks on the 500 more than the 350. The wheels and the dark window surrounds and F Sport badge really make a difference.

Exactly why I didn't buy it last night. It's gorgeous as you say, but just not that special for this kind of car.

Yeah, Atomic Silver is a really nice shade of silver and retains its uniqueness pretty well.

I found pictures of an Atomic Silver IS500 with red interior a week ago. Never shared it because the lighting in the room had it looking almost like Iridium. I'll look for it and share it in the IS500 thread when I come across it again.

The current generation IS is such a vicious looking car, even purple or brown would look good on it. I remember seeing a brown LFA for sale last year. It actually looked fantastic.
When the car has such a naturally appealing streamlined body, the colour is almost secondary. (I guess you can apply this logic to other well proportioned things, hehe)

in 2009 I had a Ford Fusion Sport that was Vapor Silver, which is very similar to Atomic Silver. I absolutely love that color. It's easy to maintain, looks very good clean and when it's dirty, it's not as bad as black or white.

Just when I had come to peace with my decision to go with Infrared. This ultrasonic looks fascinating. Ughh.....

Now I wish they only offered the regular IS500 in one colour just like they do with Launch Edition. Would remove the agony.....(I know , I know, first world problems).

TGPCanada- LMAO - Why bother choosing, get one of each! Seriously, the red is an interesting color for me....I saw teh video where they do the lap and that car was just jaw dropping, then I see it in other videos like the last one from Matt Maran and was like, it looks orangy.....so I am not sure, maybe it is very susceptible to the light and such. The USB always take my breath away.....At this point, now without having seen them in teh flesh, if I had to put a deposit, my money would be on the USB but that is just me

Yup, I hear you. I guess one could also say that under certain lighting the USB may look purple, the atomic silver may look brown, etc. What a conundrum ! Maybe I should just get it in black and be done with it LOL.

Speaking about the Matt Maran video, the hood lifting at the 18:00 mark of the video is why I wanna get the IS500......LOL.

I remember seeing that portion of the video and saying, yeah that is cool!! Now when I owned my RC 350 AWD, that gap was there all the time so it looked like the vehicle was floored even while being stopped, that was NOT cool (lol)
