Oh my God, and let the congregation say AMEN!!

I want to be so rude and ask if the effer read anything before hitting the record button, but so many people get basic crap wrong. I just ignore most of what is said and listen to the engine. Oh…and how hard is it to understand the difference between Sport S and Sport+? Or…that there’s a clear difference between auto-mode paddle shifting vs. manual-mode paddle shifting.

More owners need to submit reviews, that’s the ticket! 😎🤘🏽

But you are at sea level, I thought that was an elevation thing.

I absolutely love this team. They are able to consistently review cars in a philosophically and emotionally; and you do not know which side they’ll fall on until the end. The comparison they did between the Lotus, Cayman, and the Vette was freaking amazing.

So the youtube algorithm strikes again! This time with a positive Canadian driving one in Infrared on Enkei's! Has some Lexus stock footage inserted with the driver in car and exterior views.

So I got to 2:59 seconds and had to shut that crap off. I left a comment on his page, because saying the brakes on the IS 500 can also be found on the IS 2-effing-50 was too egregious to ignore.

Yeah, that among many things on AutoSpoileage's (lol) review is what got me started on my rant. Do a little research. If you literally just use your eyes you can see it ain't the same brakes, Bro!

The Infrared IS 500 is making the rounds in Canadia. Here is a middle of the road review with the usual complaints and positives. Very mellow review, maybe the guy had his edibles before.

Everyman Driver has an IS 500. Here's a pros and cons video about the entire IS lineup.

Another Canadian review in USB 2.0 and Enkei's to make the Blue Crew happy. This is Part # 2 and Part #3 of his review started in Post #434 He loves the engine. I'll ignore a few "facts" that were off a little in it but otherwise enjoy. He needs to buy one as I think he was having a "moment" here.

LOL!! Yes the facts were slightly…off…but his enthusiasm more than made up for it.

He reminded me of this guy who also had a ‘moment’. 😂

I've not watched this yet, but I generally enjoy TopherDrives.

28+ MPG, not bad

edit: OK I finished the video. Really interesting how he claims to only have had Apple CarPlay audio issues with the IS. Not just Lexus models or anything like that - only the Lexus IS. Really odd. He claims it can't be his equipment, so it must be this particular model. Anyone else have something like that?

In some instances it was a bad cable. But a new/higher quality lightning cable fixed the CarPlay issues.

I had major issues with my Android auto last week, thought it was an update thing which it was not. I switched cables to a thinner, more flexible cable and everything was good again. So yeah if you have trouble with either your Apple or Android I say try the cable first. Same rule applies to HDMI cables.

So much gripe in these videos that the IS500 is "lazy", reluctant to respond etc. unless you go Sport+, full throttle, & redlining all the time. Or as the guy says, the car only likes to be driven in 2 modes: Grandpa mode or full-on nuts mode, and there is nothing in between. I actually really like this "dual personality" of the IS500. I'm not always in the mood to be redlining it from stop sign to stop sign, and I enjoy the "cruiser" nature of the car . Makes it so much easier as a daily driver. But then the fact that you can suddenly flip a switch and go full on aggressive mode, just makes the appeal of the vehicle so much better. Besides, even in Sport mode with just enough throttle to get you in the 3K-4K RPM range you are hustling pretty good.

I honestly think he's pretty accurate with the Grandpa-mode or full-attack mode assessment. But like, is it a deal-breaker? No. And it's not like the car just shuts off if I give it half throttle - like you said, it's still going to give you some revs if you ask for them.

I think the important thing is he said he "would have one." Ultimately, that is what matters. Are the complaints enough to stop you from wanting one? No? Then there you go.

I was driving the wife's X3 last night, and while I truly like how it drives, gosh... it just has 0 charisma like our IS 500 does. It's gonna dutifully get us from A to B, and it can be kind of entertaining to hustle it, but it will not put a big grin on my face EVER. The IS 500 does that almost every time I hop in it.
