YouTube commenters are quite annoying. Most of the time, I can tell it's people who probably never would have bought the car anyway. "Wow, this is way slower than my M550i." You don't say!? That's a more expensive, more powerful, AWD car with an "M" attached to its name. I would certainly hope it's faster... I won't get into how the M550i is just a fast luxobarge versus the IS 500, which is a real sport sedan. Anywho! People are really elitist when it comes to acceleration numbers and interior features/tech above all else. "No wireless Android Auto? Pass!" "No sub-4-second 0-60? Pass!" And it's just mind-boggling how people can really spreadsheet-shop cars when there are so many aspects to cars that you HAVE to experience in-person to understand.

^^ Back when I had my Launch Edition the weekend I had the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s (Summer Tires) installed. I raced a '21 M550I from a 2nd gear 45 roll. Obviously he smoked me I let off around 110 he was at least 5+ cars ahead of me. But then again a V8 Twin Turbo AWD sedan that costs much more than the IS500. But in the long run the M550i will depreciate hard & the IS500 will still be worth a good amount on the market.

It would require too much editing, but the last 5 posts…RIGHT ON!!
I will admit though, the bite of the PS4S’ from a dig are freaking amazing. The always available torque when rolling is amazing too, but I love surprising folks at the light. 😈
Just purchased a replacement set yesterday and they’ll be installed by Lexus on Friday. I had to replace tires every 15 months on both my previous IS 350s. Looks like the 500 will keep that tradition, I only got 15K miles out of them.
Oh well…I can’t give up the fun! 🤦🏽♂️ 🤷🏽♂️
Side Note…Alex…I saw your response to that guy with the Camry. It was so incredibly dk’ish it was awesome! I chuckled all day… 😂

I think these 0 to 60 excuses are getting pretty really old now with EV's having entered the market in full force. Even a moderately powered EV will demolish pretty much any ICE car from 0 to 60, 0 to 100, 0 to 150. I get the argument "with 472 hp, you'd expect it to be faster", but 0 to 60 in 4.3-4.4 seconds is pretty darn fast. RCFs/IS500s being dyno'd seem to average ~~400 HP at the wheels, which is a 15% loss through the drivetrain, and I've read that modern transmissions seem to be able to do quite a bit better than that. So who knows, maybe this 19th century transmission is just that inefficient. I also think the gearing is a bit tall in this transmission compared to other 8-speeds. I dunno. Add on top of all that the nearly 4000 lbs this car weights. This is not a 3300 lb Supra style car. Oh, and the stock tires are pretty crappy too.
I'm sure if the IS500 came with the 10-speed in the LC and had better performance tires, I could imagine it shaving off perhaps 0.4 seconds or so possibly dropping into the high 3s 0 to 60. Maybe. Then again, the LC500 does the 0 to 60 in 4.6 seconds. Then again, the LC gains around ~400-500 lbs on the IS. Then again, the Fuji RCF can do it in 4 seconds flat with more aggressive gearing (from I've read). And even if the IS500 could do a 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds, how does that actually change anything? The weekend internet warrier would now be more content? Can you actually notice that on the street? LOL. If I wanted bragging rights on the 0 to 60 scale, I guess I should go out and buy a Plaid S and do 0 to 60 runs all day long. Whatever makes you happy.

^^^ I know I've seen it before. Main reason why I had not posted it here as I thought I saw it from here.

My suggestion is dont...leave the special badging to those that have the LE. I am never a fan of people trying to mod their car ro make it look like something it isnt. Some mods are cool but like when i see a 2017 IS with rear lights that mimics that of a 2021+ i always cringe. But that is just my opinion
