This is why I turned my Drive Pulse off lol. I work from home, so the IS 350 is pretty much our "fun" car since we also have the BMW. No point in obsessing about how "well" I am driving when I don't drive every day or in traffic.
If I had the 500, first thing I'd do besides disable the "Eco" light is disable the Drive Pulse feature.
Alright I'm convinced, when I pick up my car tomorrow from the PPF, Ceramic, and Tint place I'll drive this car like it is meant to be. Should probably opt out of drive pulse too so they don't have any data about spirited driving
Yep this is right. I had a few semi-hard pulls before, but took off the shackles at 622! 😜

Once we finished the first leg back home, I turned that shyte off in the hotel room. I’m sure it’s still *on* in meta-form, but in case Lexus or USAA wants to use it for whatever reason, I’m not making it easy! 😈
So I've been doing a lot of comparisons on the different drive modes - Normal, Sport, Sport+ and now I am 100% convinced that there are 3 levels of steering stiffness. Obviously Sport+ being the stiffest.
Also, even setting the steering to Sport in Custom drive mode doesn't stiffen the dampers like Sport+
So for whatever reason, Lexus didn't document the 3 distinct IS500 driving profiles differently than how they were set up for the IS350.
There are only two modes to the steering. Normal and Sport. Sport steering feel is only active in SPORT S+ mode.
Well my car must have the "little *****" programming. Mine doesn't downshift all the way and Sport+ will also shift into 8th gear all day long.
What do you mean by "downshift all the way?" Do you have an example? In your picture your car isn't fully warmed up and the car will never let you downshift into redline.
If it is like the IS 350, then the only differences between Sport and Sport+ are the adaptive dampers and steering. I think it could be different in the IS 500 in other ways, but will need some confirmation on that.
i think the RC F would be a better comparison than the IS 350 as it uses the exact same drivetrain.

It was from another thread, can't remember which one. For my car going WOT from 60-65 mph:
Normal mode = 5th gear
Sport and Sport+ = 4th gear
Paddles allow me to shift into 3rd (where it will pull up to almost 100 mph)
This is the only car I've ever had where going full throttle doesn't give you the best gear for acceleration. The picture is just to show that mine will shift into 8th even in Sport+ when other cars are in 6th or 7th max. It did it all the way home today, even with spirited driving. Sport+ will hold the gear when I accelerate hard, but after the fun is over it will work its way to 8th gear.

I think this quirk has everything to do with the engine and drivetrain being warmed up or not. I see that your redline is not 7300 rpm so it will shift the car into 8th in Sport+
I learned today that mine will do the exact same thing. But once it was warmed up it kept it in 6th.

It was doing all the way home, completely warmed up. This car behaves weird for me.
