When you drive it, do you let the car warm up before getting on it? I always wait until the oil temp gauge is at the middle. If it's even a little below that, I'll stay at 3000 RPM or less.
Unfortunately no, I tried but i just couldn't get my phone to take a pic where you could see the sparkles, maybe that's a good thing because I looked online and saw a lot of pics, especially from toyota/lexus that looked worse than what I had. After seeing that I'm not super worried about it. Still waiting on the oil analysis though. Seeing that confirms to me how important it is to do a few early oil changes.

I changed my oil around 2000 miles and had a surprising amount of metal in the filter. The oil itself was very clean so filter did its job. I let the car warm up before driving hard and was gentle with it during break in. Just seems like Lexus saving money/environment and doesn't flush the first fill oil. Besides, we have a 6yr drivetrain warranty. If the bearings are damaged I think that issue would present itself before then so I wouldn't worry about it.

yes it did look like the oil from the oil pan was clean it was just in the filter housing, I'm super gentle with it until it gets up to operating temp too. I don't know about in the states but in canada they offer a crazy warranty 9 years 200K km's for just over $2000 extra, I took it as I plan on keeping this car for a long time. I agree if the bearings were damaged I would think there would be obvious signs in the first 10-20 thousand miles

Is there an area on one of the screens that shows miles until maintenance due? I've owned several Lexus, including my current LX570 and there has always been a mileage screen. Secondly, if there is - where do we reset the oil maintenance? I perform all fluid changes myself. I looked in the manual and it doesn't reference - only for other IS models.

Upon startup the first mileage it shows with a wrench is the miles until service. You can also press the small odo button to the left of the steering wheel to cycle to that same wrench screen. To reset maintenance you do it by moving the gauge to the right to expand the menu, go to vehicle settings, and maintenance data and reset accordingly

I see that you have a 350. Can someone with a 500 verify? I don't see any of those options.

Super YIKES dude! Not only was this a total pinga move to someone looking to help (help that you asked for), but you’ve also shown the rest of us your character.

Not. Cool. 😒😒

Congrats on driving 3......However, you seem a little sensitive. While I could sit here an drill down on your insecurities I'll circle back to my question.

The manual clearly leaves the 500 off. Unless I'm missing it - cycling through the odometer screen only goes as follows: ODO, Trip A, Trip B, blank. The settings screen does not have the typical Lexus reset maintenance screen.

How about you, you know, go try it yourself?

Here's a screenshot of the owner's manual. It does not say anything about 300/350/500.

I'll go check mine later to see if I've got the options. At the doctor's office now.

You don't have a Launch Edition, so you're probably not knowledgeable enough either for him

Better yet, no one else has LE 302 so they don’t have the specific 302 manual.

Truly amazing how keyboard warriors take things out of context. This is exactly how a solid forum turns to crap. I've been on the forums for over 10 years trying to help and seek help. That is simply what I was attempting to do. Your comments are ridiculous and dilute the value of the forum. It's petty. My comment about a 500 was not a slight - it was legit, as the manual specifically mentions all OTHER models for resetting the maintenance. I was simply trying to verify that I'm not missing something.

arentz07 I appreciate you trying. I'll check in a half hour when im back in the car. The one thing I have not done is slide the odometer over then hit the odo button to cycle. I've only tried on the center position. That would totally make sense. I'll report back.

Okay, boomer*

*I am only using this in a negative connotation in this specific instance, as there are plenty of members here in that age range that aren't so dismissive of others trying to help.
